A process fluid pressure transmitter includes a sensor body having a pressure sensor and electronics coupled to the pressure sensor to obtain an indication of pressure from the pressure sensor. At least one process fluid isolation assembly is fluidically coupled to the pressure sensor and is configured to receive a process fluid. The process fluid isolation assembly includes an isolation diaphragm welded to a weld ring. The weld ring has a sealing surface on a first side adapted for contact with a metal sealing ring and a weld portion welded to the sensor body on a second side. The sealing surface and the weld are substantially aligned with one another.

A capacitive pressure transmitter is provided. In one aspect, the transmitter includes a capacitive pressure sensor coupled directly to the measured media without any intervening fluid isolation. A filter is preferably used to keep particulates from reaching the measuring diaphragm. In another aspect, a capacitive pressure transmitter is provided with at least one self-contained isolator interposed between a process connection and the capacitive pressure sensor. In both aspects, the capacitive pressure transmitter is relatively small and preferably constructed from materials that facilitate low-cost manufacture.

Capacitive pressure transmitter

A pressure transmitter with a fluid isolator that includes a sensor tube and a fill tube that have &ldquo;D&rdquo; shaped ends that connect together in a port internal to the transmitter. The shaped ends can be brazed into the port for sealing. Fitting both the sensor tube and the fill tube in the same port provides a low cost isolator with reduced isolator liquid volume. The fluid isolator has an isolator diaphragm with a central diaphragm region overlying a central backing plate that includes a annular groove. The annular groove avoids slow response of the isolator after an overpressure condition.
