A luminaire for lighting an area includes at least one LED and a first reflector disposed substantially within the housing. The first reflector includes an annular reflective surface having a central axis and an edge defining an aperture through which light exits. The annular surface is formed from a first conic cross section portion revolved about the central axis with one of the at least one LED facing the central axis and positioned proximate a focal point of the first conic cross section portion. The luminaire also includes a second reflector within the housing. The second reflector has a bottom reflective surface that is formed from a second conic cross section portion extending to and revolved about the central axis. The focal point of the second conic cross section portion is proximate the one of the at least one LED.

LED luminaire

A light fixture includes a solid state light emitter having first and second light-emitting portions configured to emit first and second portions of the light, respectively. The light fixture also includes a reflector having a first reflective surface positioned in the path of the light and including a first substantially parabolic section configured to reflect the first portion of the light, and a second substantially parabolic section adjacent the first substantially parabolic section and configured to reflect the second portion of the light. The second substantially parabolic section has a focal length greater than that of the first substantially parabolic section. The light fixture also includes a stray light reflector having a second reflective surface facing the first reflective surface. The first reflective surface reflects a part of the light toward the stray light reflector, and the stray light reflector is configured to reflect the part of the light.

Solid state optical system

Lighting fixtures and lighting systems for use in areas with high magnetic fields or areas that require low EMI emissions. The lighting systems include a non-ferrous lighting fixture having an LED light source and a control circuit. The LED light source includes one or more LEDs, and the control circuit provides a regulated operational current to the LED light source. The control circuit includes at least one switch for controlling the flow of current through the control circuit. The switch has a first state and a second state, and the operational current provided to the LED light source is increased and decreased in a linear manner based on the state of the at least one switch.

LED lighting system for use in environments with high magnetic fields or that require low EMI emissions

The invention provides a light fixture including a solid state light emitter coupled to a housing and configured to emit light in a path, and a reflector. The reflector includes a reflective surface positioned in the path of the light emitted by the solid state light emitter, the reflective surface comprising a first substantially parabolic section configured to reflect a first portion of the light, the first substantially parabolic section having a first focal length. The reflective surface further includes a second substantially parabolic section adjacent the first substantially parabolic section and configured to reflect a second portion of the light, the second substantially parabolic section having a second focal length greater than the first focal length.

This invention is a non-ferrous lighting fixture and non-ferrous lighting system that can be used in areas with high magnetic fields or that require low EMI emissions, such as MRI operating rooms. This invention uses LED's to provide a high-intensity, quality white or other color light that is softened by reflectors and diffusers, and can be dimmed to provide flexible lighting levels. The flexible lighting levels can range from the maximum light used for patient procedures and equipment servicing/maintenance to the lowest light level used to keep a patient comfortable while facing upward on the MRI scanning table. Moreover, by using an aluminum substrate printed circuit board, this invention resolves the thermal issues associated with high-intensity lighting. Not only does this invention resolve glare and hot spot issues, it protects the user and installer from electrical hazards associated with potentially high voltages, as well. Finally, because this invention is completely non-ferrous, it does not interfere with the integrity of the MRI equipment's readings.

Reflector

A lighting apparatus for providing a substantially uniformly illuminated light emitting surface, the apparatus comprising first and second light sources generating flux patterns including light rays that diverge about first and second central light rays, respectively and a light guide member having substantially straight first and second en sections and a curved section, the first end section having a proximal end and a distal end and formed about a first light axis, the second end section having a proximal end and a distal end and formed about a second light axis, the curved section including first and second ends that are linked to the distal ends of the first and second end sections, respectively, the guide forming a front surface and an oppositely facing textured back surface along each of the end sections and the curved section, the curved section forming a bend such that the back surface is concave and the front surface is convex along the curved section length, at least a portion of the back surface tapered toward the first light axis in the direction from the proximal end to the distal end of the first end section, wherein, the first light source is juxtaposed such that the central light ray is directed along the first light axis and the second light source is juxtaposed such that the central light ray is directed along the second light axis.

Light guide and lateral illuminator

A fluid pressure regulator includes a diaphragm operated leakport controlling low liquid or fluid flow rates. A precisely formed leakage unit spaced from the leakport establishes continuous flow from the input to the output. The leakage unit includes an opening in the body of the regulator and a separate orifice unit having an integral molded body and internal precision orifice establishing the continuous flow. The molded body fits within the opening and is firmly attached to the body to create a precise control of flow therethrough. The orifice has a diameter in the range of about 0.001 to 0.030 inches, and establishes precise low flows. The separate orifice unit includes an elongated tubular body with an internal orifice molded as single integral members.
