A housing for a connector includes a main body having a plurality of exterior sides and a resilient shell extending from the exterior sides. The resilient shell includes a first resilient section having a first support connected to the exterior sides and a cantilever disposed at an end of the first support opposite the main body. The cantilever is separated by a distance from at least one of the exterior sides and is elastically deflectable toward the at least one of the exterior sides.

Housing for a connector of a connector system

Pass through plates comprise a body with an opening between opposed first and second surfaces for accommodating the passage of electrical elements. One or more upper retaining elements project outwardly from the body and are positioned adjacent a body top portion. One or more lower retaining elements project from the body and are positioned adjacent a body bottom portion. The upper and lower retaining elements are each configured to both engage respective top and bottom sections of an opening in an external object, and to engage a backside surface of the external object when installed within the opening to retain the pass through plate for attachment with the external object. The upper and lower retaining elements are positioned to enable movement of the pass through plate from an upward position in the opening to a downward position in the opening for fixed attachment with the external object.

Electrical element pass through plate constructions

Pass through plates have a body with an opposed first surface and second surface and an attachment member extending therethrough. The attachment member includes a wall structure configured to accommodate placement of an electrical conductor therein. The attachment member may include a recessed section configured to accommodate an outer section of the electrical conductor to prevent rotational movement of the electrical conductor therein. A retaining element is configured to contact the electrical conductor and retain axial placement of the electrical conductor within the attachment member when the electrical conductor is installed in the wall structure. The retaining element may comprise one or more latch elements extending along the attachment member wall and configured to move radially. The retaining element may be configured to contact a portion of the electrical conductor once installed in the attachment member. The attachment element and retaining element are integral with the pass through plate body.

Electrical conductor pass through plate constructions

An electrical assembly includes a housing extending between front and rear ends. The housing includes a post extending between a base end and a free that is loaded into a passage of the circuit board and engages the circuit board in a primary locking operation such that the post secures the housing to the board by a primary holding force. A contact is received in the housing and has a mating end at the front end of the housing for mating with a mating electrical assembly and a terminating end at the rear end of the housing for electrical connection with the board. The free end of the post is locked to the rear side of the board by a secondary locking operation that secures the housing to the board by a secondary holding force that is greater than the primary holding force.

Housing post for an electrical assembly

An electrical assembly includes a housing at a front side of a panel that extends between mating and receiving ends. The mating end extends through an opening of the panel from the front side to a rear side of the panel. A mounting clip extends between a front end and a rear end and includes a passage therethrough that receives the mating end of the housing. First and second sides of the body define the passage and includes a locking feature extending therefrom the first side into the passage. The clip moves between unlocked and locked positions by sliding the rear end of the clip along the rear side of the panel and the body is flexed outward to allow the locking feature to bypass the housing. The mating end of the housing is coupled with an electrical connector in a locking operation to secure the housing to the panel.

Flexing mounting clip for an electrical assembly

An electrical connector includes a housing that defines a cavity at a mating end. A terminal retention (TR) block is mounted to the housing within the cavity. The TR block defines multiple channels configured to receive contacts therein. The channels include deflectable retention latches configured to engage the contacts to retain the contacts in the channels. A terminal position assurance (TPA) clip is mounted to a distal end of the TR block within the cavity of the housing. The TPA clip is configured to block deflection of the retention latches to lock the contacts in the channels. The TPA clip has slots that align with the channels of the TR block and receive distal tips of the contacts therethrough. The slots have tapered lead-ins configured to guide the distal tips of the contacts from the channels into the slots.

Electrical connector with terminal position assurance clip

A wire tray configured to support and route wires of a wire bundle between electrical components includes tray walls defining a channel configured to receive corresponding wires of the wire bundle. The tray walls includes a first side wall, a second side wall opposite the first side wall and a bottom wall extending between the first and second side walls. A cover is hingedly coupled to the first side wall. The cover extends across a top of the channel between the first and second side walls. The cover has a primary latch latchably coupled to the second side wall. The cover has a secondary latch engaging the first side wall to secure the cover to the first side wall.

Wire tray for a wire harness

A connector assembly for mounting to a panel includes a cap connector having a cap housing, a cap terminal block held in the cap housing and holding a plurality of cap terminals and a mounting clip coupled to the cap housing to secure the cap housing to the panel. The cap housing has an inner shroud, an inner flange surrounding the inner shroud and an outer flange extending outward from the inner flange. The inner flange has panel retention features extending therefrom. The inner shroud is loaded through an opening in the panel until the panel retention features engage the panel and temporarily secure the cap housing to the panel between the panel retention features and the outer flange. The mounting clip is coupled to the cap housing to secure the cap housing to the panel between the mounting clip and the outer flange.

Panel mounted connector assembly

An electrical connector assembly includes a housing having a front end and a rear end and including housing channels extending axially from the front end to the rear end for holding a wire assembly. The connector assembly includes a stabilizer having a front end and a rear end. The stabilizer includes supports extending from the front end with support channels along a longitudinal axis of the stabilizer. The stabilizer is coupled to the rear end of the housing so that the support channels align with the housing channels to accept corresponding wire assemblies therein. A front retaining feature holds the stabilizer to the housing. A rear retaining feature holds the wire assemblies to the stabilizer.

Electrical connector assembly

A bulkhead connector assembly is provided having an outer housing that has an internal chamber. The outer housing has a sealing section configured to seal an exterior of the outer housing within an opening. A terminal housing is configured to hold a plurality of terminals. The terminal housing is received in the internal chamber. The terminal housing has primary locking mechanisms configured to secure the terminals in the terminal housing. An independent secondary lock (ISL) is separately provided from, and coupled to, the terminal housing. The ISL is configured to secure the terminals in the terminal housing and assure they are properly seated.

Bulkhead connector assembly

An electrical assembly is disclosed that provides evidence of tampering. The assembly includes a plug housing with a seal cover attached thereto. A wire dress cover is attached over the seal cover, and a locking insert is placed through the wire dress cover and is held in place by a serialized lock-wire. The locking insert overlies a jack screw, which prevents the disconnection of the plug housing or removal of a wire cover without first removing the locking insert or lock-wire.

Tamper evident connector system

An electrical assembly is disclosed that provides evidence of tampering. The assembly includes a plug housing with a seal cover attached thereto, the seal cover including latching arms. A wire dress cover is attached over the seal cover, and a locking element is placed through the wire dress cover and is rotatably latched in place to the latching arms. The locking element overlies a jack screw, which prevents the disconnection of the plug housing or removal of a wire cover without first removing the locking element.

An electrical connector assembly is shown which is profiled for mounting to a wall. The assembly is comprised of an insulative housing having an outer profile, at least one abutment portion, such as a flange, having an abutting surface outside of the outer profile, and a retaining surface spaced from the abutting surface. A retaining member is operably engageable with the retaining surface, and the retaining member has an orientation member preventing incorrect orientations between the retaining member and the housing.

Spring clip for connector housing

An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector with one or more latch receptacles, and a cover with one or more latches, in which the latch receptacles and latches are polarized so that a latch engages with a latch receptacle when the connector and the cover are aligned in a pre-determined orientation. In certain embodiments, the electrical connector has at least two latch receptacles, one of them being a first width and others being of a second, different width, and there are corresponding latches also of two different widths. In certain embodiments, the latches are in pairs, and for example, at least one pair of latches and receptacles of the same width will be on opposite sides of the cover. The pairs differ in width so that the cover is 'polarized' to fit in only one orientation.

Apparatus, articles of manufacture and method for a wire dress cover assembly

An electrical connector includes a housing having a mating end and a wire receiving end. A cover is provided on the wire receiving end of the housing. The cover has a ridge on an interior surface thereof to stabilize the cover on the housing. The cover flexes about the ridge when the cover is mounted on the housing. A connector position assurance element (CPA) is slidably received in a channel on the cover and is movable between a pre-staged position and a staged position. The CPA engages a connector latch on the housing to assure that a mating connector is fully mated to the connector when the CPA is in the staged position. The CPA includes a simply supported latch beam having a latch element thereon that engages a step in the channel to latch the CPA to the cover.
