The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices. The aerosol delivery devices may include a reservoir containing a liquid aerosol precursor composition and an atomizer including an electrical resistance heating element and a nonfibrous liquid transport element having a microtextured surface adapted for surface wicking of the liquid aerosol precursor composition across the microtextured surface, the microtextured surface of the liquid transport element being in fluid communication with the reservoir and in fluid communication with the electric resistance heating element.

The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices. The aerosol delivery devices include mechanisms configured to deliver an aerosol precursor composition from a reservoir to an atomizer including a vaporization heating element to produce a vapor. For example, a bubble jet head may be configured to dispense the aerosol precursor composition to the atomizer. The bubble jet head may be fixedly coupled to the atomizer. The bubble jet head may include a precursor inlet, an ejection heating element, and a precursor nozzle. The atomizer may include a vaporization heating element.

Aerosol delivery device including a bubble jet head and related method

Aerosol delivery devices including mechanisms configured to deliver an aerosol precursor composition from a reservoir to an atomizer including a vaporization heating element to produce a vapor are disclosed. For example, a bubble jet head may be configured to dispense the aerosol precursor composition to the atomizer. The bubble jet head may be fixedly coupled to the atomizer. The bubble jet head may include a precursor inlet, an ejection heating element, and a precursor nozzle. The atomizer may include a vaporization heating element.

A dispenser for dispensing a metered amount of a liquid comprises a body having sidewalls defining a hollow interior and an opening at a forward end of the body, a cartridge having a reservoir adapted to contain a liquid and an outlet at the forward end of the cartridge, the cartridge being sized and shaped to be positioned in the hollow interior of the body so that the outlet is aligned with the opening in the body. A plunger is positionable in the reservoir and slidable within the reservoir, and a metering unit comprises a plunger advancement mechanism that can cause the plunger to slide within the reservoir, the metering unit causing the plunger advancement mechanism to advance the plunger a predetermined amount. The metering unit is configured to cause advancement the plunger in the reservoir to apply pressure on the liquid in the reservoir and cause a droplet of the liquid to be dispensed through the outlet. The dispenser produces a droplet of from about 0.5 &#x3bc;l to about 10.0 &#x3bc;l. In one version, a droplet to droplet consistency of &#xb1;0.2 &#x3bc;l. In one version, the metering unit provides feedback to a user when the plunger has been advanced the predetermined distance.

Liquid disperser

The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices. The aerosol delivery devices include mechanisms configured to deliver an aerosol precursor composition from a reservoir to an atomizer including a heating element to produce a vapor. A pressure controller may control dispensing of the aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir based on a pressure differential between a first pressure within the reservoir and a second pressure proximate the atomizer. The first pressure within the reservoir may be substantially equal to atmospheric pressure. Alternatively, the first pressure within the reservoir may be greater than atmospheric pressure.

The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices. The aerosol delivery devices include mechanisms configured to deliver an aerosol precursor composition from a reservoir to an atomizer including a heating element to produce a vapor. An actuator may displace a rod to dispense the aerosol precursor composition to the atomizer. Thereby, the rod may move a piston in a pump housing to dispense the aerosol precursor composition. The atomizer may define a chamber in which the heating element is positioned and at which the aerosol precursor composition is vaporized.
