A child-resistant closure for liquid medicaments consisting of two parts, a dosage cup and a bottle adapter. Dosage cup is configured to have cap lugs which reversibly engage helical locking lugs. In thread-on bottle adapter embodiments, helical locking lugs are located on the bottle adapter. In press-in bottle adapter embodiments, helical locking lugs are located on the neck finish of the bottle. A downward force is required to close the system, said force deforming a flexible shoulder, which in turn, creates an upwardly biasing force acting on the dosage cup to lock it in place in a child-resistant manner.

Upwardly biasing child-resistant closure for liquid medicaments

A passive valve closure for liquid medicaments, configured to permit irreversible attachment to a pre-existing bottle and reversible engagement with a dosage cup bearing lugs such that when the dosage cup engages skirt lugs on the closure, a child-resistant closure is effected.

A system for producing blow molded articles. The system includes an injector nozzle mounted to a parison cavity block having a parison cavity such that the injector nozzle injects molten plastic into the parison cavity to form a parison. The injector nozzle is mounted to the parison block by means of two seats, a distal seat where the distal end of the injector nozzle is seated within an opening in the parison cavity block and a proximal seat, a linear distance inwardly from the distal seat, where a circular flange on the injector nozzle is seated within an annular shelf formed in the parison block. The two spaced apart seats ensure an accurate alignment between the centerline of the injector nozzle and the parison cavity. As a further feature, there is a system to heat the nozzle tip to reduce the temperature differential between the nozzle and the parison cavity.

A dispenser assembly for liquid products is disclosed. Such an assembly may include an elongated barrel, and an elongated plunger having a flexible sealing lip disposed at an end thereof. The sealing lip may have an outer diameter in a relaxed state that is greater than an internal cross-sectional diameter of the barrel. When the plunger and barrel are actuated axially relative to one another, the sealing lip flexes inwardly and provides the sole contact between the plunger and the barrel.

Dispenser for medicaments and method and apparatus for making same

An adapter to be pressed into the neck of a bottle to receive a syringe for accessing the bottle contents by a syringe. The adapter has a distal end that extends into the bottle and a normally closed valve located at that distal end to prevent the contents from leaking out of the bottle if the bottle is inverted. An upper flange of the adapter seats against the top of the bottle and is recessed into the top of the bottle to prevent easy access to pry the adapter out of the bottle. A cap is also disclosed that is adapted to be pressed into the neck of a bottle. The cap has an upper lid that is hinged to a lower body to allow the upper hinge to move between a closed position sealing the bottle and an open position where the bottle is accessible by a syringe.

A tamper evident tip cap assembly for a prefilled dosage syringe having a tip cap wherein a sleeve is frangibly connected to the tip cap, and is captured within an overcap freely rotatable thereon. The tamper evident tip cap assembly is removed from the syringe tip cap by pulling the overcap to break the frangible connection between the sleeve and syringe tip cap.

A moisture-tight safety closure and a container wherein a depending, circumferentially extending sealing lip on the closure engages a flexible wall portion on the neck of the container. A plurality of circumferentially extending lugs on the closure cooperate with a plurality of circumferentially spaced hooks on the container neck for releasably securing the closure to the container.

A dispenser assembly for liquid products comprising an elongated, generally cylindrical barrel of a predetermined internal cross-sectional diameter having a discharge opening at one end and open at its opposite end, an elongated, generally cylindrical hollow plunger having an outer diameter less than the barrel internal diameter and a circumferentially extending axially directed sealing lip adjacent the tip portion having an outer diameter greater than the internal diameter of the barrel in the relaxed state to thereby flex the lip inwardly against its bias and providing the sole sliding contact between the plunger and barrel when the plunger and barrel are actuated axially relative to one another.

A needleless access system adapted to be mounted on a vial comprising a generally elongated tubular housing having an interior dividing wall, flexible hooks projecting upwardly from the dividing wall which are diametrically opposed, a pair of confronting splines projecting upwardly from the interior dividing wall, a hub insert having a piercing tip normally supported in an armed position by hook elements, a series of outwardly projecting teeth which engage and are guided in the splines during axial displacement of the hub insert relative to the splined housing, and said hub insert having means for mounting a syringe assembly whereby the hub insert maybe activated axially guided by the splines so that the piercing tip engages the stopper in a vial aligned therewith.

Needleless access apparatus and system

Apparatus for molding plastic caps having inclined tabs integral with the lower edge of the cap skirt and radially inwardly extending ribs integral with the inner surface of the cap skirt. The tabs and ribs are formed by a plurality of blades having recesses on the ends thereof corresponding to the configurations of the tabs and ribs. The blades are mounted on a core and extend into a female mold having a cup-shaped cavity. A linear drive member is mounted on a fixed plate assembly and connected to a ratchet sleeve rotatably mounted on a movable plate assembly. The end of the ratchet sleeve is provided with circumferentially spaced teeth engaging the lower peripheral edge of the cap skirt. Movement of the movable plate assembly relative to the fixed plate assembly causes the ratchet sleeve to rotate to move the molded tabs and ribs away from the recesses of the blades so that the finished cap can be stripped from the apparatus.

Apparatus for molding plastic caps

A locking helical closure system for containers consisting of three components. A closure cap, a neck finish, and a liner or stopper made of an elastic material. The closure system has engagement lugs that engage helical grooves and pockets on a neck finish preventing the closure cap from unwinding during the sterilization process.

An overcap assembly for a gear finish vial having a cap constructed and arranged to contain either a stopper-type closure or a sealing disc closure. A plurality of radially inwardly extending ribs are provided in the cap to maintain the closure in the cap and to cooperate with teeth on the gear finish to prevent turning of the cap assembly when in the sealing position on the vial. A plurality of inwardly extending tabs are provided on the lower end of the cap for selectively engaging shoulders on the vial neck for holding the overcap assembly upwardly from the neck of the vial in an unsealed position during the lyophilization procedure and downwardly on the neck of the vial when in the sealed position.
