A computer system includes a natural language processing (NLP) unit, a storage unit, a user interface and a search engine. The NLP unit analyzes a content source to identify one or more sections containing searchable content and generate section metadata respective to each identified section included in the content source. The storage unit stores the section metadata and the user interface receives a section-scoped query aimed at searching an identified section corresponding to the at least one first section metadata stored in the storage unit without searching an identified section corresponding to at least one second section metadata stored in the storage unit. Based on the section-scoped query, the search engine analyzes the at least one first section metadata stored in the storage unit without analyzing the at least one second section metadata.

Selectively targeting content section for cognitive analytics and search

A mechanism is provided in a data processing system to implement a medical concept searching engine for improving searches of medical concepts based on an index model. The mechanism generates a concept index model data structure that records medical concepts and corresponding numbers of instances of the medical concepts in the corpus of documents. Responsive to receiving a search request from a user, the medical concept searching engine identifies at least one medical concept in the search request and one or more related medical concepts that are related to the at least one medical concept based on an ontology data structure. The medical concept searching engine generates a bubble graph user interface comprising a plurality of bubbles corresponding to the at least one medical concept and the one or more related medical concepts.

Learning interpretable strategies in the presence of existing domain knowledge

An automated concept-based autosuggest mechanism is provided for automatically tailoring autosuggestions in a search engine to particular medical concepts being searched. The mechanism identifies a concept-based text pattern dictionary data structure associated with text being dynamically entered by a user based on a previously identified item. The mechanism dynamically matches a set of text patterns in the concept-based text pattern dictionary data structure with a portion of text being dynamically entered by the user into a field of the user interface. The mechanism generates a user selectable output in the user interface specifying the matching set of text patterns from the concept-based text pattern dictionary data structure. The mechanism automatically populates the field of the user interface with a selected text pattern from the set of matching text patterns in response to user selection of the selectable text patter in the user selectable output in the user interface.

Concept-based autosuggest based on previously identified items

Techniques are described for load balancing between DHCP servers at a DHCP client. Embodiments include receiving, at the DHCP client, a respective DHCPOFFER message from each of two or more DHCP servers, wherein each of the DHCPOFFER messages includes an IP address offer and load information describing a current workload of the respective DHCP server. One of DHCP servers is selected, at the DHCP client, to accept an offer for an IP address from, based on the received load information and a subnet on which the selected DHCP server is located. Embodiments transmit a DHCPREQUEST message, from the DHCP client, to the selected DHCP server, to accept the IP address offer from the selected DHCP server.

Client-driven load balancing of dynamic IP address allocation

Techniques are described for detecting duplicate IP addresses at a DHCP relay agent. Embodiments identify a list of DHCP clients that have valid IP address leases from one or more DHCP servers. Additionally, network traffic from a first node passing through the DHCP relay agent is monitored. Embodiments then determine whether the first node is using a duplicate IP address, based on the monitored network traffic and the identified list of DHCP clients.

Systems and methods to analyze layer-2 data frame switch forwarding are provided. A first switch may be coupled to a second switch. The first switch may maintain state information mirroring the state of the second switch. A sequence number may be appended to a data frame that is received at the first switch. Forwarding compliance of the second switch may be determined by analyzing a runtime attribute of the first switch.

Data link layer switch frame forwarding analysis

Techniques are described for load balancing between DHCP servers at a DHCP client. Embodiments receive load information from each of two or more DHCP servers. Here, the load information describes a current workload of the respective DHCP server from which the load information is received. One of the two or more DHCP servers is then selected at the DHCP client based on the received load information. Additionally, embodiments accept an IP address offer from the selected DHCP server.

Techniques are described for routing data frames using a distributed virtual bridge in a highly integrated networked system. The distributed virtual bridge creates and manages a type of LAG referred to as 'unified link aggregation group' (ULAG). Two or more link aggregation groups that span multiple physically-separated switches or chassis (referred to as MLAGs) are unified or aggregated to form a ULAG. Applications view the ULAG as a single logical link, and as long as at least one of the sub links in any of the MLAGs that are part of the ULAG is operational, network connectivity is maintained.

Embodiments of the invention provide a method of managing aliases on a server, including deleting unused aliases, while minimizing required administrator interaction. The server may include expirable alias records, containing an expiration value and an inactivity timer. An alias manager component may process the expirable records. If the alias manager component determines a particular record has expired, the alias manager component may delete that record.

Managing an alias host and domain names on a DNS server

Techniques are described for providing a backup DHCP server using a DHCP relay agent. Embodiments retrieve DHCP server configuration information specifying a configuration of one or more DHCP servers. Additionally, embodiments monitor, at a DHCP relay agent, DHCP lease traffic between the one or more DHCP servers and one or more DHCP clients passing through the DHCP relay agent. Upon determining that the one or more DHCP servers have failed, DHCP server services are provided at the DHCP relay agent, based on the received DHCP server configuration information and the monitored DHCP lease traffic.
