A one piece mounting bracket for connecting a stabilizer bar and knuckle to a vehicle suspension damper such as a strut includes a body with an engagement surface, which engages the strut and allows the bracket to be connected in generally surface to surface contact with the strut. The bracket further includes a knuckle attachment and a stabilizer attachment extending from the body of the bracket and reinforcing webs interconnecting the knuckle and stabilizer bar attachment.

A jounce bumper plate for a damping module of a type commonly employed automotive suspension system having a hydraulic cylinder with an upper end cover, a piston rod slidably extending from the upper end of the cylinder and ajounce bumper mounted upon the piston rod. The jounce bumper plate mounted on an upper end of the cylinder and includes a central bore therethrough to allow slidable passage of the piston rod, and includes a series of arches extending about the outer periphery of the plate. The arches increase in curvature from the central bore to the outer periphery, thereby forming gaps between the jounce bumper plate and the associated hydraulic cylinder to facilitate the expulsion of moisture and contaminants from the upper end of the hydraulic cylinder during compression and extension cycles of the associated cylinder.

A suspension damper includes a piston that is reciprocally carried in a circular cylindrical cylinder tube. The piston is attached to a piston rod that extends out from the cylinder tube and is adapted for connection to one of the sprung or unsprung masses of an associated vehicle. The circular cylindrical cylinder tube is carried in a reservoir tube that is adapted for connection to the other of the sprung and unsprung masses. The reservoir tube includes a section with a polygonal cross section and includes an open end with a circular cross section. The open end is closed by a rod guide assembly that engages the reservoir tube and the cylinder tube. The reservoir tube includes a closed end opposite the open end that is optionally polygonal or circular in configuration.

A telescopic energy absorbing unit that operatively interconnects the bumper and the frame of the vehicle which incorporates an elastomeric energy absorbing medium within the tubular components of the unit and a resilient preload piston in series therewith to assure preload of the bumper and its assured positioning at a station outwardly after permanent foreshortening is experienced in the elastomer energy absorbing medium subsequent to its deflection from an impact load.
