An improved tool for cleaning a jewelry article (e.g., ring) accurately grips and positions the article yet captures any device affixed thereto (e.g., gemstone, jewel) while exposing the tool to a jewelry cleaning liquid (e.g., pressurized steam, ultrasonic liquid, ammonia solution, etc.). For instance, a spring-handled basket tool generally used for jewelry cleaning is improved by introducing a grasping member, such as an alligator clip with resiliency treated contact edges. The clip is affixed, such as by riveting, to one of two interior rings that define the opening between the two hemispheric baskets. A jewelry article that is thus clipped may be positioned to a desired angle for inspection and cleaning without fear of an expensive gem being lost due to the cleaning process.

An accessory carrier assembly includes a reversible shank manufactured of a substantially square first portion and a substantially square second portion such that the first segment is preferably angled relative to the second segment. The first portion is sized to engage a first hitch receiver and the second portion is sized to engage a second hitch receiver. To attach the accessory carrier to the reversible shank, the first segment is located in amounting assembly either with or without the bushings depending on which type of hitch receiver is available. The accessory carrier can also be pivoted by removal of a single pin. The angle of the reversible shank forms a stop that contacts the accessory carrier to prevent over rotation of the accessory carrier and possible contact with the ground.

An accessory carrier assembly includes a reversible shank manufactured of a substantially square first portion and a substantially square second portion. The first portion is sized to engage a first hitch receiver and the second portion is sized to engage a second hitch receiver. To attach the accessory carrier to the reversible shank, the first segment is located in amounting assembly either with or without the bushings depending on which type of hitch receiver is available. The accessory carrier is pivotable by removal of a single pin to provide access to a rear of a vehicle. The single pin can be further located in a stop aperture to prevent overrotation of the carrier.

A hitch assembly generally includes a hitch receiver that retains an insert by a pin. The pin is preferably hook-shaped and includes a primary pin segment and an engagement terminus. The primary pin segment defines a primary axis transverse to the common longitudinal axis of the hitch assembly. When assembled, the primary segment passes through an aperture located in a first wall of the hitch receiver, the insert aperture of the insert and another aperture in the second wall of the hitch receiver. As a fastener is threadably engaged with a threaded portion of the pin, the fastener pulls the primary pin segment through the hitch receiver and drives the engagement terminus through the second aperture against the insert. The fastener thereby introduces tension in the pin to restrict movement of the insert relative to the hitch receiver and minimize free-play therebetween. In one embodiment, a tamper resistant secondary retainer provides a lock which engages a conical end of the pin.

A combination clothing/safety harness for fall arresting and rescue from confined spaces provides the advantages of ease of use, distribution of forces over a wide surface area, protection of the harness portion, and ease of enforcing regulations that the harness be worn. The safety harness may be attached to various articles of clothing, such as a jacket, vest, overalls, or coveralls, so that donning the article of clothing automatically positions the harness for use. The harness may be used by employees working at dangerous heights or in confined spaces, or by hunters using tree stands. Combination clothing/safety harness systems can be made to meet OSHA requirements.

A cargo carrier platform for mounting to a vehicle hitch allowing cargo to be transported outside the vehicle. The cargo carrier includes a drawbar adapted to be received within the vehicle hitch and a cargo platform adjustably attached to the drawbar to facilitate fore and aft adjustment of the platform relative to the rear of the vehicle. The drawbar is provided with a vertical offset to position the platform further from the ground. Markers are mounted on the outer rear corners of the platform to provide the user with a continuous visual indication of the extent of the cargo carrier.

A method of manufacturing a shower foundation is disclosed. A base including a curb portion is formed by injection molding. A waterproof membrane is sprayed over the base. The membrane includes three vertical extensions which are contiguous with a flat portion of the membrane. A backer layer is placed over the waterproof membrane, the backer layer being made of a flexible sheet material. A drain is formed through the base and is sealed with respect to the backer layer and waterproof membrane. A threshold is made by the addition of a lip formed over the curb portion of the base. A method is also disclosed for installing the shower foundation made by the method of manufacturing. The installing method includes the steps of sliding the shower foundation into a space designated for a shower unit, attaching the waterproof membrane of the shower foundation to studs surrounding the space, installing walls of the shower unit on the base, and securing the shower walls to the studs. Tile may then be directly mounted on the shower walls and base.
