Systems and methods are presented for providing a graphical user interface (GUI) for assisting eye-care professionals in intraocular lens implantation planning in a two-stage process. During the first stage, first biometric data of a patient's eye is obtained. A first set of lens products comprising a first lens product is determined based on the first biometric data. A first grid is provided via the GUI to present the first set of lens products. During the second stage, second biometric data of the eye is obtained after an existing lens of the patient's eye is removed. A second set of lens products comprising a second lens product is determined based on the second biometric data. A second grid is provided via the GUI to present the second set of lens products and a difference between the first and second lens products.

Systems and methods for providing a graphical user interface for intraocular lens implantation planning

Systems, apparatuses, and methods include an intraocular lens (IOL) cart that may assist with inventory management and may help users identify an IOL for use in a particular surgical application. The IOL cart may include sensors and indicators that provide information to a user and may update IOL inventory automatically whenever the IOL cart is accessed by a user.

A graphical user interface for use in phacoemulsification surgical systems that allows a user to select different pulse modes by touching portions of the display screen. The user interface includes first and second display elements. One display element includes a representation of the on-time of the pulses, and the other display element includes a representation of the off-time. The representations show how the on-time and off-time change relative to a position of a controller, such as a foot pedal. The representation show a constant time, or that a time increases or decreases as the foot pedal is pressed. To select a pulse mode, a user can scroll through different pulse representations by touching the screen at the display elements. The selected pulse mode can be continuous, pulse, burst, or a combination or derivation thereof.

In various embodiments, a surgical console may include a sensor strip with sensor strip sensors (e.g., field effect or capacitive sensors) offset vertically and configured to receive an input from a user corresponding to a vertical height of a patient's eyes relative to the surgical console. The surgical console may use the input from the sensor strip to determine a patient eye level (PEL) relative to a surgical console component and then use the PEL and the at least one component in controlling operation of at least one of a source of irrigation or a source of aspiration during an ophthalmic procedure. The surgical console may further include a plurality of visual indicators positioned relative to at least two of the plurality of sensor strip sensors and configured to be illuminated to correspond to a sensor detecting the touch input.

In various embodiments, a braking system may include an actuator, a pawl gear coupled to the actuator, and a wheel gear plate. The braking system may further include a brake pad, an outer wheel coupled to the brake pad, and a spring washer plate configured to press the wheel gear plate against the brake pad such that the wheel gear plate is configured to inhibit rotation of the outer wheel through friction between the wheel gear plate and the brake pad when the pawl gear inhibits rotation of the wheel gear plate. In some embodiments, the braking system may further include a sensor and the actuator may be triggered to actuate the pawl gear in response to signals from the sensor.

Systems and methods for console braking

A surgical system and cassette, the cassette having an identification method that is specific to the cassette. Suitable methods include bar coding or Radio Frequency Identification ('RFID'). Cassette information that may be encoded include features such as lot number and performance characteristics, such as pressure sensor calibration data, flow and pressure data and any other performance characteristics of the cassette captured during testing of the cassette at manufacture.

A graphical user interface for use in an ocular surgical system, such as phacoemulsification and vitreo-retinal surgical systems. A display screen shows a display element that includes a representation of a parameter of pulses generated by the ocular surgical system relative to a position of the controller. A window is displayed on the display screen and generated in response to touching the display screen of the ocular surgical system. The window includes a display element having a value of a parameter of the system. A value of the parameter is changed by touching the display screen at the adjustment element. The window can also include a representation of the parameter of the pulses relative to the position of the controller and an adjustment element for changing a value of the parameter represented in the display element. The representation in the window can be linear or non-linear, indicating the function of the parameter relative to a position of a controller, such as a foot pedal. A current representation of the parameter displayed in the window is changed to a different representation of the parameter in response to touching the display screen at the window. The window is closed by touching the display screen at a pre-defined area of the window. The window can also be configured to fade away or close after a pre-determined amount of time of inactivity or in response to a user.
