A system and method for determining effective policy profiles, is presented herein. The system includes one or more client devices configured to initiate a request for at least one effective policy profile, a server mechanism communicatively coupled to the one or more client devices and configured to receive the request for the at least one effective policy profile and determine the at least effective policy profiles for each of the requesting one or more client devices, and a policy data storage component communicatively coupled to the server mechanism and configured to store a plurality of policy profiles. The plurality of plurality of policy profiles includes an association between each of the one or more client devices and one or more of the plurality of policy profiles.

System and method for determining effective policy profiles in a client-server architecture

A system and method for subscribing to a distribution by a subscriber which distributes a distribution package from a source database to a destination database. The system/method includes accessing a subscriber object upon receiving a distribution package distributed by a distributor, determining a working-context stored within the subscriber object, selecting a first object included in the distribution package, obtaining from the package a relative identifier for the first object or creating the relative identifier for the first object if the relative identifier is not included with the package, appending the relative identifier to the working-context, wherein a second identifier is created for the selected object and adding the selected object with the second identifier to the destination database.

System and method for distributing application objects

A system and method for distributing objects to one or more subscribers. The system/method allows an administrator to create a distribution by allowing the administrator to select one or more objects for distribution to the subscriber(s). Once the distribution is defined, the distribution can be used any number of times and be sent to any number of subscribers without having to re-define or modify the distribution. Advantageously, the system/method automatically determines the objects that are associated with the objects selected for distribution by the administrator and automatically distributes the selected objects together with the objects that are associated with the selected objects.

A method and system for moving a subtree of objects from a source location to a destination location. The method includes receiving an input identifying a subtree at a source location. The subtree includes a parent object and exists in a hierarchical tree of objects. The directory includes object containment rules which prohibit certain parent/child relationships among the objects. An input signal identifying a destination location in a destination tree is received. A destination location includes a destination object to which the subtree will be subordinate. The parent object of the subtree is modified to an object type sufficient to comply with object containment rules, and the subtree is moved from the source location to the destination location. The present invention can handle both intra-tree and inter-tree moves of subtrees. Containment rule violations are eliminated, and if the move crosses schema boundaries, the schemas are compared and reconciled to eliminate problematic differences between the schemas.
