This invention provides a system and method for utilizing a wireless, handheld communication device to image a scene in multiple directions, so as to include multiple parties in addition to the user, and also, optionally, to project images on a plurality of display screens. The housing of the smartphone is adapted to provide a multi-camera and multi-screen arrangement. More particularly, the housing of the smartphone is adapted to include (at least) a front-directed camera and a rear-directed camera on respective front and rear faces, and openings along the left and right side edges for small-scale cameras and associated protective windows that are directed to image the left and right areas adjacent to the phone. The side cameras can also be provided in a removable case and a hub can be used to coordinate data feeds, including those from peripheral devices.

Aspects of the present disclosure include methods for determining baseline noise of a photodetector (e.g., in a light detection system of a particle analyzer). Methods according to certain embodiments include irradiating a sample having particles in a flow stream, detecting light with the photodetector from the irradiated flow stream, generating data signals from the detected light and calculating a moving average mean squared error of the generated data signals to determine the baseline of the photodetector. Disclosed herein include systems, devices, computer readable media, and methods for subsampling flow cytometric event data. First and second flow cytometric event data can be transformed into a lower-dimensional space, associated with a plurality of bins, and assigned to a first bin and a second bin. Subsampled flow cytometric event data comprising the first flow cytometric event data can be generated. The subsampled flow cytometric event data can comprise the second flow cytometric event data if the first bin and the second bin are different. The subsampled flow cytometric event data may not comprise the second flow cytometric event data if the first bin and the second bin are identical.

Aspects of the present disclosure include methods for adjusting a particle classification index in response to one or more saturated data signals from light detected from particles in a flow stream. Index sort analysis can be performed using sort electronics on a flow cytometer or other particle analysis system or after an experiment using a workstation. The sort electronics on the cytometer or other particle analysis system may generate sort decision information for the events. The sort decision information may be transmitted from the sort electronics to the workstation that may differ from the sort identified by the workstation. The feature fuse the gate information with the sorting decision information to provide an accurate representation of the sorting.

Methods according to certain embodiments include detecting light from particles in a flow stream, generating a data plot of measurements of the detected light, where the data plot includes one or more regions each having a population of particles, calculating a set of vertices that form a boundary for each region in the data plot, identifying a type of algorithmic transformation associated with each vertex in the set of vertices, generating a bitmap of each region of particles such that the bitmap of each region includes a set of vertices that correspond to the vertices of each region in the data plot and identifying an algorithmic transformation for applying to each vertex in the bitmap of each region.
