Techniques for framing data in various data transmission contexts are described. A data framing technique may include a transmitter sending a data stream including repeating bits in alternating forward and reverse order. A receiver of the data stream may fold the data stream, and correlate portions of the folded data stream for purposes of validating the data stream and/or identifying an ID in the data stream. In at least some instances, once the receiver validates the data stream, the receiver may accept payload accompanying the data stream.

Data transmission framing

A device includes a processor configured to generate a palindromic sequence associated with a unique identifier (ID) associated with the device, and provide the generated palindromic sequence to a transmitter, the palindromic sequence including forward order of bits, reverse order of bits and a spacer bit. The device further includes the transmitter configured to repeatedly transmit the generated palindromic.

SAR imaging may be performed using a short-pulse laser to generate range-resolved reflection data. A short-pulse laser may be advantageous over other techniques to acquire the range-resolved data, especially in cases with very distant targets or other cases with low signal-to-noise ratio information, because a short-pulse laser can determine the range to individual reflectors with a single photon return and is more adaptable to a photon-starved inversion algorithm. This technique can be used with both mono-static and bi-static SAR configurations.

A laser beacon may be attached to a vehicle, object, or personnel, or be incorporated into an existing vehicle optical emitter via software and/or hardware, that allows the vehicle, non-vehicle object, or associated personnel to be uniquely identified using a small telescope with a high-speed photodetector. The telescope may be an amateur telescope with a high speed-photodetector, which significantly reduces cost over more complex optical telescopes. Beacons may also be attached to objects that become space debris, such as fuel tanks, rocket stages, cubesat dispensers, and the like. The beacon may be suitable for use in space, in the air, on water, or on land.

Optical identification beacon

According to one embodiment, generating image data includes receiving coded aperture imaging sensor data collected according to coded aperture imaging and receiving Compton imaging sensor data collected according to Compton imaging. The coded aperture imaging sensor data and the Compton imaging sensor data are generated by a sensor system sensing radiation from a radiation source. A coded aperture imaging pixel value and a Compton imaging pixel value are determined for each pixel of an image. A combining function comprising addition is applied to the coded aperture imaging pixel value and the Compton imaging pixel value to yield a combined pixel value for each pixel. Combined image data is generated from the combined pixel values. The combined image data is configured to yield a combined image of the radiation source.

Multimodal radiation imager

A device is provided for regulating the flow of fluid from a source and may be used with an air filter of the type found in clean rooms and the like. The device includes an impeder, movably mounted proximate to the input, for variably impeding fluid flowing from the source, and a movably mounted piston having a distal face, exposed to a reference pressure, such as the pressure of the clean room, and a frontal face, exposed to fluid downstream from the impeder. The impeder and the piston are attached to each other, so that an increase in pressure on the distal face of the piston tends to lessen the impedance on the fluid flow, and an increase in pressure on the frontal face of the piston tends to increase the impedance on the fluid flow. A force is exerted on the impeder and the piston so as to tend to cause the impeder to lessen the impedance on the fluid flow; this force may be the weight of the impeder and the piston, as well as any member that connects them.

Flow regulator adaptable for use with process-chamber air filter

To control the flow of air into and/or out of a process chamber, such as a clean room, a two-stage system is disposed in conduits leading into and/or out of the process-chamber. One stage includes a regulator, which has a plenum disposed between the environment and the air source or the vacuum source. The regulator maintains in the plenum a pressure that is between the pressures of the environment and the source and that is a constant amount different from the environment's pressure. The regulator includes a piston having a frontal face exposed to air in the plenum flowing between the environment and the source, and a distal face exposed to the environment's pressure. In some embodiments, a gate is attached to the piston. Either the gate or the piston is mounted so as to variably impede the flow of air through the regulator and so that the weight of the piston tends to move the piston in a direction so as to lessen the impedance on the air flow. The other stage includes an adjustable valve, located between the regulator and the environment, for further impeding the flow of air.

Process-chamber flow control system

A regulator including a movably, preferably hingedly, mounted member having a distal face, exposed to a reference pressure, and a frontal face, exposed to fluid passing through the regulator. Attached to the member is a structure that variably impedes fluid flowing through the regulator. The amount that this structure impedes the fluid flow varies as a function of the difference between the pressure of fluid on the frontal face of the member and the reference pressure. The impeder may be an integral part of the piston extending into the path of the fluid flowing through the regulator, or it may be a separate structure attached to the piston. In one embodiment, this impeder includes segmented airfoils segment. Some airfoil segments are movable and attached to the piston, others are fixed. As the piston moves in response to changes in pressure differential across the piston, each movable segment is displaced with respect to its corresponding fixed segment. As the corresponding segments are further displaced with respect to each other, the impedance to flow increases. The movable airfoil segments may also be hingedly attached to the hingedly mounted piston. A restoring force exerts a force on the piston so as to tend to lessen the resistance on the fluid flow, and so that when there is no flow through the passageway the resistance is relatively low.

Flow regulator adaptable for use with exhaust from a process chamber

There is provided a process for the conversion of a feedstream comprising gaseous and/or liquid feed materials to a desired products by means of catalytic distillation employing a catalyst-packing material comprising a rigid, cellular monolith or a rigid, cellular monolith coated with a catalytically-active material. To measure and control the flow of fluid through a passageway, a venturi meter and a regulator are disposed in the passageway. The area of the cross-section gradually decreases and then gradually increases. The venturi meter also has first and second static pressure ports, the first port being located at a relatively wide portion of the venturi meter, and the second port being located at a narrower portion of the venturi meter. Each of the ports is disposed about the circumference of the venturi. A regulator, or another type of adjustable valve variably impedes flow through the passageway. A controller measures the static pressure at first and second ports and adjusts the regulator or valve based on the static pressure measured at the first and second static pressure ports. Another device for controlling flow through a passageway comprises a piston having one face exposed to the fluid in the path and forming part of a venturi disposed in the passageway such that the conduit has a cross-sectional area that decreases and then increases. An actuator adjusts the position of the piston based on the static pressure measured at first and second static pressure ports.

There is provided a process for recovering acetic acid from methyl acetate wherein the methyl acetate is hydrolyzed catalytically to methanol and acetic acid in the same tower or column that is used to separate the methanol from the acetic acid and the hydrolysis and separation are carried out coextensively in the vessel. The process is employed suitably in a process for the partial oxidation of a polymethylbenzene to a polycarboxylic acid in the presence of an oxidation catalyst and an acetic acid solvent.

A two piece portable and upright trash bag supporting device having a frame member removably retaining the open end of a conventional flexible trash bag to an opening in an upright unit. The unit has an inclined ramp leading into the unit opening and, thus, into the bag. A handle is provided at the upper end of the unit for holding the same while sweeping trash, leaves, grass and other debris into the bag. After filling the bag, the frame member and attached bag is removed from the unit, the frame member is removed from the bag and the bag is discarded.

A portable, knock-down massage chair includes a generally rectangular case having opposed side walls, each provided with an arcuate cutout extending therein from the upper edge thereof. A lid is hinged to a first end wall of the case and openable to gain access to the interior of the case. Stored within the case are a seat member, a leg rest, an arm rest, a chest support, a face cradle, and a brace assembly. The brace assembly comprises a hinged, two-panel assembly stored adjacent to the bottom of the case, and pivotable therefrom out of the top opening to be joined to the lid to form a rigid triangular support assembly. The chest support and the face cradle are slidably supported on the upper panel of the two-panel assembly, and the seat member is secured atop the side walls adjacent to the second end wall of the case. The leg rest is adapted to be secured within the arcuate cutouts of the side walls in a variable angle fashion, and the arm rest is joined to the lid panel. A person receiving a massage is supported on the seat facing the brace assembly, leaning forward with the chest supported by the chest support, the face on the face cradle, the lower legs on the leg rest, and the arms on the arm rest, so that the back, shoulders, neck, hips and arms are well-presented for massage. A stabilizing member is pivotally joined to the bottom of the case to provide lateral stability to the chair in the erected configuration.
