A sealed wheel case for use on a vibrating aggregate processing device comprises a housing sized to hold a rotatable wheel supported on a shaft, the housing having a base, a peripheral sidewall, and a cover. The cover includes an aperture adapted to receive therethrough a driven portion of the shaft. A seal is disposed adjacent the shaft and the aperture, and an annular baffle is mounted to an inside surface of the cover and extends into the wheel case. The annular baffle is positioned on the inside surface of the cover to generally surrounding the shaft and the seal, and a plurality of attachment bolts are arranged to secure the housing to the frame.

A jaw crusher having one or more improved elliptical jaw members is disclosed. The jaw crusher includes a frame, a stationary jaw, and a moveable jaw. The stationary jaw is mounted to the frame and includes a top edge, a bottom edge, and an interconnecting face extending between the top edge and the bottom edge. The moveable jaw, which is shiftably mounted to the frame and is moveable toward and away from the stationary jaw, includes a top edge, a bottom edge, and an interconnecting face extending between the top edge and the bottom edge. The face of at least one of the stationary jaw and the moveable jaw includes an elliptical profile.

Jaw for a jaw crusher

A sealed wheel case is provided for use with a vibratory device for vibrating aggregate material. The vibratory device includes a frame and a rotating shaft extending transversely across the frame, with the shaft having a wheel. The sealed wheel case includes a housing having a base, a peripheral sidewall, and a cover. The housing is sized to receive therein the wheel and is further adapted to house therein a quantity of lubricating oil for lubricating the wheel. A plurality of attachment bolts are provided for securing the housing to the frame. Each of the attachment bolts includes a shank, an inner end disposed within the wheel case and having an inner contact surface, an inner control washer disposed between the inner contact surface and the housing base, with the inner control washer having a first predetermined thickness. The inner control washer includes an aperture therethrough sized to form with the bolt shank an annular cavity, and an O-ring is provided which is sized for insertion in the annular cavity, with the O-ring having a second predetermined thickness greater than the first predetermined thickness. The bolt further includes an outer end disposed outside the wheel case and having an outer contact surface adjacent the frame. Accordingly, in response to securement of each attachment bolt each O-ring is compressed to substantially fill its adjacent annular cavity, thereby preventing the lubricant from escaping the housing.

A wheel case for a vibratory device. A vibratory device for vibrating aggregate material includes a frame and a rotating shaft extending transversely across the frame, with the shaft being rotatably supported on bearings and having a wheel moveable through a circular path. The bearings and the wheel are disposed in a wheel case which includes a housing having a base, a peripheral sidewall, and a cover, with the housing being sized to receive therein the wheel and the bearings and further being adapted to contain therein a quantity of lubricating oil for lubricating the wheel and the bearings. A baffle is mounted to either the housing base or the housing cover, and extends inwardly into the housing and includes a portion disposed adjacent the wheel path. The baffle is adapted to distribute lubricating oil to the bearings in response to rotation of the wheel.

Lubricating system for a vibratory apparatus

A device for securing the stationary jaw to the frame of a jaw crusher is disclosed. The device includes a crusher frame having top and bottom spaced apart cross members, a stationary jaw, and a threaded draw rod having a pair of inwardly moveable wedge members. The stationary jaw includes a top edge, a bottom edge, and a pair of interconnecting sides, and further includes a top lug adjacent the top edge and a bottom lug adjacent the bottom edge. The top lug is adapted for placement adjacent the frame top cross member, and the bottom lug is adapted for placement adjacent the frame bottom cross member. The draw rod is disposed such that the wedge members are positioned to engage the jaw top lug and the frame top cross member. Accordingly, in response to inward movement of the wedge members, the stationary jaw is progressively more firmly secured to the frame, thereby preventing undesired movement of the stationary jaw during operation of the crusher.

Device for securing the stationary jaw of a jaw crusher

A jaw crusher having device for securing the stationary jaw to the frame against side-to-side movement is disclosed. The jaw crusher includes a frame having a generally vertical base extending between a pair of spaced apart side portions, with each of the side portions including an angled ledge spaced from the base. A generally planar stationary jaw is mounted to the base and extends between the frame side portions, with the stationary jaw having a top edge, a bottom edge, and interconnecting side edges. Each of the stationary jaw side edges includes a beveled lug extending along its length. A pair of generally wedge shaped key plates are provided, with each of the key plates being mountable to an adjacent frame side portion and including a beveled first edge adapted to engage an adjacent beveled side lug of the stationary jaw. Each of the key plates further includes a second edge adapted to engage an adjacent ledge of the frame side portion. Accordingly, in response to downward movement of the key plates the stationary jaw is pressed generally horizontally against the frame base with the engaging beveled surfaces of the key plates and the side lugs cooperating to prevent side-to-side movement of the stationary jaw.

A gyratory crusher with a tramp iron relief system having an annular manifold is disclosed. The gyratory crusher includes a frame, with the frame including a circumferential manifold ring having an internal hydraulic channel. A bonnet and a gyratory head are supported by the frame, with the gyratory head being spaced relative to the bonnet such that a crushing chamber is formed therebetween. The bonnet is adjustably mounted to the frame to permit relative vertical movement between the bonnet and the gyratory head. A hydraulic relief system is provided and includes at least one hydraulic cylinder operatively interconnecting the bonnet and the frame and being in flow communication with the hydraulic channel. The hydraulic relief system is arranged to allow uncrushable material to automatically pass through the crushing chamber.

A gyratory crusher for crushing material having a frame mechanism including a lower frame portion; a crusher head having a bottom surface; a mounting mechanism for pivotally and gyrationally mounting the crusher head on the lower frame portion wherein the mounting mechanism includes a plurality of hydrostatic bearings configured to form a sliding engagement with the bottom surface of the crusher head to operatively support the crusher head; a drive train configured to operatively connect said mounting mechanism to an external power source; and a self-contained lubricating system for operatively lubricating the mounting mechanism and the drive train, wherein the self-contained lubricating system includes a flow divider configured to separately distribute lubricant to each hydrostatic bearing of the plurality of hydrostatic bearings wherein the flow divider is further configured to operatively provide lubricant to each sliding engagement of the plurality of hydrostatic bearings such that the crusher head is slightly elevated from the plurality of hydrostatic bearings, a monitoring system for monitoring the volume rate of lubricant flowing through the flow divider wherein the monitoring system is configured to operatively signal shut-down of the gyratory crusher as the volume rate decreases below a predetermined level, a pressure transducer configured to operatively signal shut-down of the gyratory crusher in the event that pressure of the lubricant to the flow divider decreases below a pre-determined level, and a relief valve configured to prevent pressure of the lubricant to the flow divider from exceeding a pre-determined level.

A gyratory crusher includes a frame, a bonnet, a gyratory crusher head, supported by the frame and being spaced relative to the bonnet such that a crushing chamber is formed therebetween, and a hydraulic channel formed integrally within the frame. First and second hydraulic cylinders are attached to the frame and support the bonnet on the frame, and the first and second hydraulic cylinders are connected to the hydraulic channel so as to be in hydraulic communication therewith. First and second hydraulic accumulators are supported by the frame and are in hydraulic communication with the hydraulic channel and the hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic accumulators and the hydraulic channel are arranged to allow uncrushable material to automatically pass through the crushing chamber.

A gyratory crusher having a frame with a lower frame portion, a crusher head, a mounting mechanism for pivotally and gyrationally mounting the crusher head on the lower frame portion such that the crusher head operably gyrates between a closed side setting and a corresponding open side setting, a seal mechanism for operably protecting the mounting mechanism. The seal mechanism includes a flexible member having an outer edge, sealingly connected to the crusher head, and an inner edge, sealingly connected to the lower frame portion by an outer bearing race secured to the inner edge, an inner bearing race secured to the lower frame portion, and bearing balls captured between the outer and inner bearing races. The flexible member may have a single wall structure with a corrugation-like configuration, or a double wall structure with an inflatable bladder therebetween.

A gyratory crusher for crushing material having a frame with a lower frame portion; a crusher head; a mounting mechanism for pivotally and gyrationally mounting the crusher head: and a thermal relief system for operably transferring thermal energy from the mounting mechanism to the lower frame portion, wherein the thermal relief system includes at least one collar in thermal communication with the lower frame portion and a self-contained circulating system configured to operatively circulate coolant through the at least one collar. The thermal relief system may be configured to operatively provide a cooling system for cooling lubricant being used to lubricate the mounting mechanism. The coolant may be a lubricant such that the self-contained circulating system may be configured to operatively circulate the lubricant simultaneously through the thermal relief system and the mounting mechanism. Alternatively, the self-contained circulating system may be configured to operatively circulate lubricant through the mounting mechanism, and, after the lubricant reaches and surpasses a pre-selected temperature, to also simultaneously circulate the lubricant through the thermal relief system. A bypass valve arrangement is provided to operatively bypass flow of the coolant or lubricant through the at least one collar as the temperature of the coolant or lubricant is below a pre-selected temperature.

The rotor of an impact crusher includes a locking mechanism for impeller bars which may vary in thickness. The locking mechanism includes a compound wedging mechanism which generates an initial, axial urging force by tightening a bolt at an accessible location on the rotor. The force is translated to a first wedge through a second wedge to urge the first wedge outward into an outward converging gap between a side wall in a disc of the rotor and the impeller bar to seat the bar. The mean width of the first wedge is adjustable to accommodate impeller bars of various thicknesses. A guide track in the rotor and specifically in discs of an 'open' rotor locate the second wedge in relationship to the rotor and independently of the width adjustment of the first wedge to maintain a constant point of force application against the first wedge.

Method of locking an impeller bar against a seat

The impeller bars of an 'open' type rotor of an impact cruscher are clamped to each disc of the rotor by means of pairs of cooperating wedges. Each pair of wedges consists of a first wedge acting radially outwards of the rotor between the disc and the impeller bars and a second wedge acting axially of the rotor between the disc and the first wedge to drive the first wedge radially outwards. Means including a hook are also disclosed for lifting the impeller bars onto the rotor for initial installation as well as for later repositioning of the bars to compensate for wear.

The rotor of an impact crusher includes an locking mechanism for impeller bars which may vary in thickness. The locking mechanism includes a compound wedging mechanism which generates an initial, axial urging force by tightening a bolt at an accessible location on the rotor.
