Systems and methods for intelligently delivering fluid to a targeted tissue are described. The systems and methods may include directing a pump to distribute fluid to a targeted tissue and receiving one or more signals from an intracorporeal sensing system, where the one or more signals correspond to one or more sensed feedback parameters at the targeted tissue. The systems and methods may also include determining whether the one or more sensed feedback parameters are within an acceptable range. If the one or more sensed feedback parameters are not within the acceptable range, the systems and methods may include determining an adjusted velocity for the plunger necessary to adjust the pressure of the fluid in the pump so that the one or more sensed feedback parameters move within the acceptable range and directing the pump to distribute the fluid at the adjusted velocity.

Medical fluid injector

A system for enabling delivery of fluid in an injection procedure to be performed on a patient in connection with a diagnostic imaging procedure is disclosed. The system includes a controller operably associated with at least one pressurizing mechanism though which at least one of a first and a second fluid contained within at least one fluid container is injectable into the patient. The first fluid includes a contrast enhancing agent while the second fluid does not. The controller includes a programming system for programming an injection protocol having a plurality of phases to effect enhancement of at least one region of interest of the patient over a scan duration of the diagnostic imaging procedure. The programming system includes an algorithm that enables computation of a ratio of the first and second fluids based on at least a peak enhancement that occurs in at least one region of interest.

Devices, systems and methods for determining parameters of one or more phases of an injection procedure

Provided is a method of collecting and managing information relating to medical diagnostic procedures which includes collecting objective information about a plurality of procedures and subjective information about the results of those procedures. The objective information provides information about the parameters of the procedure and the patient who underwent the procedure while the subjective information includes an assessment of the quality of the results of the procedure. This information can be stored in a database. The database can be accessed and the information therein used in connection with understanding the results of past procedures and planning for future procedures.

Methods and techniques for collecting, reporting and managing ionizing radiation dose

A system and method of managing workflow for a variety of injection procedures preferably includes a display that provides a graphical representation of the steps required to initiate an injection procedure. The system can, for example, set forth a suggested order or sequence for the steps to be completed, and display the suggested sequence of steps graphically. Various steps may optionally require completion of ancillary operations as a requirement for completion of the selected step.

A fluid injection apparatus includes at least one pressurizing mechanism and at least a first fluid container (for example, a syringe or a bulk container) operably associated with the at least one pressurizing mechanism. The first fluid container is adapted to contain a first fluid to be injected. The fluid injection apparatus also includes a pressure modeling system adapted to predict a pressure to be generated at one or more points in the injection fluid path during planned injection procedure based upon variables associated with an injection protocol.

System and apparatus for modeling pressures generated during an injection procedure

A system for delivering a fluid comprising cells to tissue of a patient includes a container holding an injection fluid and a powered drive. A sensor system provides a measurement indicative of at least shear forces on the cells to a control system. Based at least in part on this measurement, the control system is adapted to transmit a control signal to the powered drive for pressurizing the contents of the container to deposit cells within the tissue of a patient via a fluid path and a patient interface. As an example, the cells can be pregenitor or stem cells.

Delivery of agents such as cells to tissue

A fluid injection apparatus includes at least one pressurizing mechanism and at least a first fluid container (for example, a syringe or a bulk container) operably associated with the at least one pressurizing mechanism. The first fluid container is adapted to contain a first fluid to be injected. The fluid injection apparatus also includes a controller operably associated with the at least one pressurizing mechanism. The controller includes a programming system to allow programming of an injection protocol including, for example, a plurality of phases. At least one parameter generator is provided to determine parameters of at least one of the plurality of phases of the protocol based at least in part upon a type of the injection procedure.

An injector for injection a fluid into a patient, including: a first pressurizing mechanism adapted to operatively connect with a first fluid container to pressurize fluid therein; at least a second pressurizing mechanism to operatively connect with a second fluid container to pressurize a fluid therein; a single drive; and a transmission to control how power from the drive is distributed to the first pressurizing mechanism of the first container and to the second pressurizing mechanism of the second container to control injection of fluid from the first container and from the second container. The drive can, for example, be an electric motor or other drive.

Injectors, injector systems and methods for injecting fluids

An injector for use in injecting a fluid in a medical injection procedure includes a drive having a motor to pressurize the fluid; a sensor to provide a measure of fluid pressure; and a pressure monitor in communication with the sensor and the drive to stop the motor using 4-quadrant control when the sensor communicates a measured pressure of at least a pressure hazard limit. The pressure monitor also limits power input to the motor to a power limit once the sensor communicates a measured pressure of at least a power limiting pressure. The power limiting pressure is below the pressure hazard limit.
