A mouthpiece assembly for an inhalation device including a replaceable substrate component and a replaceable substrate component therefor. The mouthpiece assembly includes a mouthpiece which is essentially a hollow tube within which fluid flow can occur along a substantially longitudinal axis thereof. Within the mouthpiece, a cavity region is formed which is adapted to receive and locate the substantially planar elongated substrate component, such that it interacts with the fluid flow when occurring. The substrate component includes a substrate which can be excited sufficiently to cause aerosolization, and the substrate is fixedly mounted within the substrate component in an orientation and location whereby a channel formation or a conduit of the substrate component at least partially coincides with the cavity region, and thus the surface of the substrate in that cavity region is exposed to, and may be entrained within, whatever fluid may be flowing in that channel or conduit.

A method of controlling the generation of an aerosolised composition in an inhalation device having a heater arranged to heat an aerosolisable composition, the method comprising: controlling the power delivered to the heater such that the heater is heated from an ambient temperature to a first temperature, wherein the first temperature is below a temperature at which the aerosolisable composition is aerosolised; delivering a predetermined amount of power to the heater such that the temperature of the heater is increased from the first temperature to a second temperature, wherein the second temperature is greater than or equal to a temperature at which at least a portion of the aerosolisable composition is aerosolised.

Methods, inhalation device, and computer program

An inhalation device includes a mouthpiece and a heater having a rigid planar substrate which supports at least one resistive element portion applied over a first region of at least one surface of the substrate, and a pair of contacts each connected to the at least one resistive element portion at one end of the contacts and applied over a second region of the at least one surface of the substrate. The substrate supports an aerosolizable composition deposited on the substrate above the resistive element portion of the heater. The mouthpiece has at least a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet proximate rear and front ends thereof respectively. The heater is disposed within the mouthpiece with at least portions of the contacts being both exposed and accessible so that an electrical connection can be readily achieved when the rear end of the mouthpiece is connected to the inhalation device.

Mouthpiece and heater assembly for an inhalation device

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to optical packages having a package body that includes a light protection coating on at least one surface of a transparent material. The light protection coating includes one or more openings to allow light to be transmitted to the optical device within the package body. In one embodiment, the light protection coating and the openings allow substantially perpendicular radiation to be directed to the optical device within the package body. In one exemplary embodiment the light protection coating is located on an outer surface of the transparent material. In another embodiment, the light protection coating is located on an inner surface of the transparent material inside of the package body.

Semiconductor optical package and method

An airfoil arranged for use in a fluid flow of varying direction relative to the airfoil, has arranged thereon a plural axis hinge for automatic adjustment of the angle of pitch of the airfoil. The airfoil can be applied to a rotary crossflow device for use in a fluid flow of varying apparent flow direction, an oscillating device for use in a fluid flow, a force generation device for use in a fluid flow of varying direction, or a flow control device for use in a fluid flow of alternating direction.

Airfoils with automatic pitch control

Apparatus for converting fluid energy into mechanical energy may include a sail and a mast carried by a pivotally mounted support. The sail is mounted both directly to the mast and indirectly to the mast through a boom, which is pivotally mounted at its center or along its length about the mast, and which is also mounted for tilting movement about a fastening extending perpendicularly to the mast. Positioning means periodically causes the boom to yaw about the mast and to tilt. Opposite edges of the sail thus alternately become taut leading edges with respect to incident wind or water and the sail adopts an oscillating motion which powers mechanical drive means such as pumps. The positioning means may be an over-center spring return or, in an alternative embodiment, be a hydraulic control mechanism. Advantages are that, because the sail remains full, it does not flap during repositioning even when formed of a light flexible material, which reduces inertial problems. Useful mechanical energy can be derived with a low level of technology from a large volume of incident fluid moving at a relatively low speed. The pressure from the pumps can be maintained at a constant value even if the speed of the incident fluid should alter.

A dynamic display comprising a multiplicity of presentation units such as solid blocks (as shown), containers, stands or shelves arranged for rotation as at least two groups about respective parallel axes. At least one of the groups being contra rotatable with respect to the or at least one of the adjacent groups, and each of the presentation units being shaped and located to avoid interference with any of the other presentation units, with the groups being arranged in a straight line (as shown), cyclically or in a pattern, even though the paths of movement of the presentation units of adjacent ones of the groups overlap, when viewed in a direction parallel to said axes.
