An outdoor-type cooking device for the heating and cooking of foods is disclosed. The cooking device comprises a base with a support housing extending upwardly to support a grilling enclosure. The grilling enclosure includes a cooking surface and a removable hood. The support housing is made from a non-metal material which is molded into a hollow thin walled structure. The support housing may be configured to have a decoratively shaped exterior. In addition, the support housing forms a working surface adjacent the cooking surface. The base forms a ground engaging support base as well as providing support for a fuel canister. The hollow support housing is also adapted to support and house the fuel canister. The removable hood is configured to cover the cooking surface and has a front and rear surface which extend between two spaced apart sides. A pair of spaced apart and axially aligned hinge assemblies pivotally couple the hood about the grilling enclosure and allow the hood to open and close over the cooking surface. In addition, the hinge assemblies allow the hood to be readily removed and reattached without any special tools or special handling.

Outdoor cooking device

A photoelectric sensing unit, especially useful for determining the passage of clear bottles or other low contrast targets on a conveyor, contains two sensors and a signal processing unit to determine the signal differential. The signal differential is compared to a selected value and sensor output is enabled or disabled. High noise immunity, resistance to target reflection, and output reliability result. The unit may correct the selected value to account for environmental change and/or unit component performance. The unit can also figure the speed of passage of the bottles.

A detector, such as a photodetector, is provided with a serial output and serial input capability so that a first plurality of pulses can be transmitted from the detector in a first preselected direction. The first plurality of pulses represent a coded pattern. When pulses are received by the receiver portion of the detector, the received second plurality of pulses is compared to the first plurality of pulses to determine whether or not the two pluralities of pulses represent precisely matched coded patterns. The use of coded patterns that comprise a plurality of bits, or pulses, significantly decreases the chance of a mis-identification of a received pulse as being representative of a reflected transmitted pulse.

A sensor system is provided with an amplifier that has as an input signal received from a light sensitive component. The output of the amplifier is determined by its gain factor. The output of the amplifier is continually monitored to determine whether it is in acceptable limits. When a change is required, a variable potentiometer is affected to change its resistance. The variable potentiometer is included as part of a feedback loop of the amplifier and, therefore, a change in its resistance will change the gain factor of the amplifier and achieve the appropriate magnitude of output signal from the amplifier. The system can be operated in either a pushbutton mode or an automatic gain control mode. In the pushbutton mode, the system responds to an operator request for a setup procedure to be accomplished. In the automatic gain control mode, the system determines when an object is not present within a detection zone and, using the presently received signal magnitudes, determines the necessary change in gain factor to achieve a signal with an acceptable magnitude. A digital potentiometer is affected in order to change its resistance which is included as an incremental part of the feedback loop of an amplifier.

A basketball net is formed of six U-shaped strands of stiff, flexible weather-resistant material, joined together at spaced points by small connector clips. Each strand preferably is a steel cable having a plastic coating or sheath, that provides distinctive coloration and oxidation protection for the cable.
