Aspects of the subject disclosure may include an artificial intelligence method of routing customer service interactions which begins with an analysis of a body of historical interactions with customers. By monitoring an interaction between a user and an agent, the user's issue may be determined and a potential resolution resource may be identified. By monitoring an exchange between the user and the resource, the analysis may be updated. Other embodiments are disclosed.

System and method for artificial intelligence routing of customer service interactions

A method for performing packet loss or Frame Erasure Concealment (FEC) for a speech coder receives encoded frames of compressed speech information transmitted from an encoder. The method determines whether an encoded frame has been lost, corrupted in transmission, or erased, synthesizes properly received frames, and decides on an overlap-add window to use in combining a portion of the synthesized speech signal with a subsequent speech signal resulting from a received and decoded packet, where the size of the overlap-add window is based on the unavailability of packets. If it is determined that an encoded frame has been lost, corrupted in transmission, or erased, the method performed an overlap-add operation on the portion of the synthesized speech signal and the subsequent speech signal, using the decided-on overlap-add window.

Method and apparatus for performing packet loss or frame erasure concealment

The invention concerns a method and apparatus for performing packet loss or Frame Erasure Concealment (FEC) for a speech coder that does not have a built-in or standard FEC process. A receiver with a decoder receives encoded frames of compressed speech information transmitted from an encoder. A lost frame detector at the receiver determines if an encoded frame has been lost or corrupted in transmission, or erased. If the encoded frame is not erased, the encoded frame is decoded by a decoder and a temporary memory is updated with the decoder's output. A predetermined delay period is applied and the audio frame is then output. If the lost frame detector determines that the encoded frame is erased, a FEC module applies a frame concealment process to the signal. The FEC processing produces natural sounding synthetic speech for the erased frames.

Systems are disclosed for operating a communications network. The system includes a module to buffer frames of a signal, and a module to determine an access delay. The system also includes a module to compress a portion of the signal based on the access delay by removing a first portion of a frame of the signal and generating an overlap-added segment from a first segment and a second segment of the frame. In another embodiment, the system includes a module to buffer frames of a signal, a module to establish a communication channel with a handset, and a module to determine an access delay. The system also includes a module to compress a portion of the signal based on the access delay by removing a first portion of a frame of the signal and generating an overlap-added segment from a first segment and a second segment of the frame.

Method and apparatus for reducing access delay in discontinuous transmission packet telephony systems

A system and method for generating a synthetic text-to-speech TTS voice are disclosed. A user is presented with at least one TTS voice and at least one voice characteristic. A new synthetic TTS voice is generated by blending a plurality of existing TTS voices according to the selected voice characteristics. The blending of voices involves interpolating segmented parameters of each TTS voice. Segmented parameters may be, for example, prosodic characteristics of the speech such as pitch, volume, phone durations, accents, stress, mis-pronunciations and emotion.

A system, method and computer-readable medium are disclosed for operating a communications network. The method aspect comprises receiving a signal and removing a first portion of a frame of the signal, and generating an overlap-added segment from (1) a first segment of the frame, the first segment being located before the first portion; and (2) a second segment of the frame, the second segment comprising an endmost portion of a terminal section of the frame.
