A system, apparatus, and method for determining the weight of an item on board a vessel operated in a dynamic multi-axis gravitational operating environment. The apparatus includes a load plate to support the items to be weighed. Load cells support the load plate to measure a raw instantaneous weight of the item. A load sensor receives the raw instantaneous weight. An inertial measurement unit (IMU) is configured to measure an acceleration in each of three axes and an attitude representing a rotational acceleration about each of the three axes. A processor is configured to receive the raw instantaneous weight of the item and determine a corrected weight based on the acceleration in each of the three axes and the attitude. A universal wiring harness for an onboard scale includes a processor, multiple load cells, and an IMU. The load plate and harness are integrated with a structure of the vessel.

System apparatus and method for multi-axis gravitational change data monitoring capture for improving scale measuring devices in dynamic environments

A device rack is disclosed. The device rack includes a first side panel and a second side panel that collectively define an interior volume. Attachment mechanisms associated with the first side panel are configured to facilitate attachment of first rack-mount extensions of respective devices with respect to the first side panel at different selected mounting planes within the interior volume. Attachment mechanisms associated with the second side panel are configured to facilitate attachment of second rack-mount extensions of the respective devices with respect to the second side panel at the different selected mounting planes.

The present disclosure relates to a miniature precision clamping assembly driven by a shape memory alloy actuator wire (SMA wire) which may be employed within a braking or clutch system. The clamping assembly includes a first clamping element, a second clamping element and an SMA wire connected to the first and second clamping elements by being interwoven through a plurality of pressure amplifiers located on the exterior surfaces of the first and second clamping elements. Both the first and second clamping elements are configured to be positioned about a rotatable shaft and move in translation to the shaft via a transition action of the SMA wire between a clamping and releasing position. By energizing the SMA wire a contracting or compressing action is generated thereby causing the first and second clamping elements to move into engagement with the one shaft for inhibiting rotational movement.
