A luminaire comprising a light source comprising a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a combination heat spreader and heat sink disposed in thermal communication with the light source such that the combination heat spreader and heat sink facilitates transfer of heat away from the LEDs. The combination heat spreader and heat sink have an outer dimension that is larger than an opening defined by a nominally sized can light fixture and an opening defined by a nominally sized electrical junction box. A back surface of the combination heat spreader and heat sink is configured to permit the luminaire to be flush mounted on the mounting surface.

Low profile light and accessory kit for the same

A luminaire includes a light source having a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs), a heat spreader, and a substantially ring-shaped trim plate. The heat spreader is disposed between and in thermal communication with the light source and the trim plate such that the heat spreader facilitates transfer of heat from the LEDs to the trim plate. The trim plate is structurally configured and disposed for dissipating heat generated by the light source. The trim plate has an outer dimension that is larger than: an opening defined by a nominally sized can light fixture; and, an opening defined by a nominally sized electrical junction box.

A flushmount luminaire is configured to be flush mounted on a mounting surface. The flushmount luminaire includes a light source having a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs); a combination heat spreader and heat sink disposed in thermal communication with the light source such that the combination heat spreader and heat sink facilitates transfer of heat away from the LEDs; and, a power conditioner structurally configured and disposed to receive AC voltage from an electrical supply and to provide DC voltage to the plurality of LEDs. The combination heat spreader and heat sink has an outer dimension that is larger than: an opening defined by a nominally sized can light fixture; and, an opening defined by a nominally sized electrical junction box. A back surface of the combination heat spreader and heat sink is configured to permit the flushmount luminaire to be flush mounted on the mounting surface.

Luminaire

A luminaire includes a heat spreader, a heat sink, a light source and an outer optic. The heat sink is substantially ring-shaped and is disposed around and in thermal communication with an outer periphery of the heat spreader. The light source is disposed in thermal communication with the heat spreader, the light source having a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) that are disposed in thermal communication with the heat spreader. The outer optic is disposed in optical communication with the plurality of LEDs. The heat spreader, the heat sink and the outer optic, in combination, have an overall height H and an overall outside dimension D such that the ratio of H/D is so dimensioned as to: cover an opening defined by a nominally sized four-inch can light fixture; and, cover an opening defined by a nominally sized four-inch electrical junction box.

Canopy light fixture

A luminaire includes a heat spreader; a heat sink; an LED light source; a power supply; an electrical supply line having a first end connected to the power supply, and a second end connected to a plug-in connector; and, an optic securely retained relative to the heat spreader or heat sink. An accessory kit includes a first pre-wired jumper including a pair of insulated electrical wires having a first plug-in connector electrically connected at one end and an Edison base electrically connected at the other end; and/or, a second pre-wired jumper including a pair of insulated electrical wires having a second plug-in connector electrically connected at one end and unconnected wire ends at the other end. The plug-in connector of the first pre-wired jumper and the second pre-wired jumper are each configured to electrically engage with the plug-in connector of the electrical supply line.

A luminaire includes an electrical base, an optic, and a heat sink disposed between the base and the optic. The lens has a first curved portion, a second curved portion and a third portion. An LED light source is coupled to the heat sink with LED modules arranged to direct light in the same direction. A frustoconical member having a reflective outer surface is disposed between the lens and the LED light source wherein the LED light source has LED modules disposed to emit at least a portion of light toward the reflective outer surface such that light is emitted with a substantially even luminous intensity in a 0&#xb0;-135&#xb0; zone.
