Embodiments related to a self-administered, behavior modification program facilitated through a structured tailoring method and system thereof which accelerates and enhances the internalization process of the individual, and which provides help when the individual begins to fail in adhering or continuing with the behavior modification are disclosed. Program instructions that when executed by a processor causes a processor to initiate automatically a schedule of events of a structured tailoring procedure upon entry criteria being met at some unknown time, provide intervention according to the intervention preferences when the adherence criteria for one of the events has not been met, and end automatically the structured collection procedure upon exit criteria being met at some unknown time.

Embodiments of methods of assessing a diabetes treatment protocol comprise determining a protocol complexity level corresponding to a degree of difficulty of completing the diabetes treatment protocol by utilizing the processor, determining a patient proficiency level corresponding to a skill set of the patient in conducting the diabetes treatment protocol by utilizing the processor, comparing the protocol complexity level to the patient proficiency level via the processor, and providing an output based on the comparison.

Body fluid sampling device comprising a sampling element having a fluid pathway () for receiving body fluid, at least a portion of the fluid pathway is open to the environment and further comprising a fluid receiving means () being spaced from the fluid pathway so that fluid in the pathway will not contact the fluid receiving means initially. The fluid receiving means has two or more test zones () for performing analytical reactions. Fluid from the channel is contacted with the fluid receiving means either by bringing the fluid receiving means and the fluid into mechanical contact or by electrically transporting fluid from the channel onto the fluid receiving means.

Device for determination of an analyte in a body fluid

A multi-use assay system accurately docks a removable test strip supporting a reagent-analyte reaction with an optics system including an LED, photodetector, and lenses or light pipes for directing light to and from the test strip. Docking is achieved using alignment fixturing, whereby an optics block holder is relied upon to align the test strip and test pad with the various optical components. Signals from the photodetector indicative of test strip reaction progress are provided to a processor for measuring the analyte.

Optics alignment and calibration system

An electrochemical test device is provided for determining the presence or concentration of an analyte in an aqueous fluid sample. The electrochemical test device includes a working electrode and a counter electrode made of an amorphous semiconductor material. The working electrode is overlaid with a reagent capable of reacting with an analyte to produce a measurable change in potential which can be correlated to the concentration of the analyte in the fluid sample. The test device optionally contains a reference electrode made of an amorphous semiconductor material having a reference material on the reference electrode.

A capillary tube is provided on the support member whereby a fluid containing an analyte to be tested is introduced into the tube and flows through the tube to the spreading layer and contacts the reagent layer.
