A multi-circuit arrangement for a wound coil heat exchanger and a method for making it are disclosed. The coil circuits are wound from a continuous length of spine fin tubing; locations are determined for breaking into the wound, continuous length of tubing to form adjacent circuits; the tubing is cut; the cut ends are pulled toward the manifold and downwardly so that adjacent ends angle toward each other; and transition tubes are secured to the cut ends, the tubes crossing each other to form an 'X' configuration.

Heat exchange coil and method of making

A reversible hermetically sealed rotary compressor for use in a refrigeration system comprising a compressor cylinder, a rotor eccentrically rotatable in the cylinder and a vane dividing the cylinder between high and low pressure sides relative to direction of rotation of the rotor. Suction and discharge ports provided for each direction of rotation are automatically switched by changing the direction of rotation of the rotor.

Reversible compressor heat pump

A scintillation camera device has a suspension system for positioning a detector head attached to a suspended arm for imaging a portion of a patient. The suspended arm includes a linking member which is pivotally attached to the suspension system and which extends horizontal from the suspension system. A rigid member is pivotally attached to the linking member and provides horizontal articulation for the suspended arm. The rigid member has a yoke at the end thereof with the yoke having a base with ends adapted to pivotally retain the detector head. The rigid member has a generally arcuate shape which provides clearance for the patient whereby the rigid member can be extended over the patient and lowered for imaging a portion of the far side of the patient. The pivotal attachments of the linking member and the rigid member have releasable brakes to permit ready positioning of the detector head and subsequent locking of the head in that desired position.

Suspended arm for a scintillation camera

The safety catch apparatus includes a generally vertically supported stationary bar which extends beyond the uppermost and lowermost positions of a suspended member. The suspended member has an aperture adapted to receive the stationary bar. The suspended member also has an inner chamber which communicates with the aperture. A catch block is sized to fit within the chamber and is adapted for vertical movement within the chamber. The catch block also includes a vertical slot which is adapted for slideable engagement with the stationary bar. A suspension system is connected to the suspended member so that the suspended member and the constrained catch block jointly move along the stationary bar. The vertical slot of the catch block has open recesses in the opposite sides and each recess has a base and an inner wall angulated toward the slot. A roller freely rests in the base of each recess adjacent to, but not in contact with, the stationary bar. The apparatus includes an activation mechanism which automatically generates relative motion between the roller and the catch block in the event of a suspension system failure. The relative motion will advance each roller along the inner wall of the recess, whereby each roller becomes wedged between the inner wall of the catch block and the stationary bar. The stationary bar will thus immediately support the suspended member in the event of a failure of the suspension system.
