A proportional motion control valve includes an electro-mechanical actuator that provides an infinitely controlled pressure setting in response to an electric signal applied to the electro-mechanical actuator. In another aspect, a proportional motion control valve includes a pilot-operated valve disposed intermediately with respect to a cage and a valve body to fluidly isolate an internal cavity of the valve body from a bore of the cage. The pilot-operated valve is subjected to a hydraulic opening force of pilot fluid that is present in the bore of the cage. A spring is disposed within the internal cavity of the valve body and arranged to subject the pilot-operated valve to a closing spring force.

Method of controlling proportional motion control valve

A hydraulic circuit for a motor vehicle supports operation of a power steering gear and a power assisted park brake unit incorporating a spring actuated hydraulic release (SAHR) chamber. The hydraulic circuit includes a pump with the power steering gear being connected to receive hydraulic fluid under pressure from the pump. Hydraulic fluid from the pump is delivered to first and second valves, the first or release control valve being connected to the SAHR chamber and the second or recirculation valve being coupled to return hydraulic fluid to a pump inlet.

A hydraulic system has first and second functions in which separate control valves govern the flow of fluid between actuators and both a supply conduit and a return conduit. The second function is connected to a load sense passage. When pressure in the load sense passage exceeds a given level an anti-stall valve opens a restricted path between the supply and return conduits. Fluid flow through that restricted path reduces a likelihood that a prime mover driving the pump of the hydraulic system will stall. When only the first function is active the anti-stall valve is closed and does not affect the supply of fluid to that function.

A hydraulic system has at least one primary hydraulic functions and a plurality of secondary hydraulic functions all of which are connected in parallel to a supply conduit and a return conduit. A first pressure relief valve prevents pressure in the supply conduit from exceeding a first limit and second pressure relief valve prevents the pressure at the secondary hydraulic functions from exceeding the lower second pressure limit. Novel pressure relief circuits are provided which enable only two pressure relief valves to provide one of two pressure limits at more than two hydraulic functions.

A control valve (10) is provided for mobile or stationary hydraulic equipment for automatically increasing or decreasing speed of a prime mover in response to operation of a hand lever to extend a hydraulic cylinder. A prime mover speed control valve (42) is integrated with a spool (12) in a single housing (10) for the purpose of simultaneously controlling the supply of fluid to a hydraulic cylinder (16) and to a cylinder (61) controlling prime mover speed. When the spool (12) is in the 'CYLINDER EXTEND' or 'NEUTRAL' position for the implement cylinder, a hydraulic control signal is provided from port (55) to the prime mover control cylinder (61) to signal increased prime mover speed and increased output from a hydraulic pump (17). When the spool (12) is in the 'CYLINDER RETRACT' position for the implement cylinder (16), the spool (12) blocks the signal from port (55) while allowing fluid to drain from the implement cylinder (16) to a reservoir (29).
