A cable network system for bidirectionally communicating signals at an enhanced duplex frequency range, which may be between about 5 MHz and about 650 MHz. This system may include a first amplifier, which may be configured to condition an upstream signal proceeding from a subscriber premises to a headend, without necessarily conditioning a downstream signal proceeding from the headend to the subscriber premises, a second amplifier, which may be configured to condition the downstream signal without necessarily conditioning the upstream signal, and a shaping circuit, which may condition the upstream and downstream signals. This system also may simultaneously, or in an overlapping or offset manner, communicate signals at a full duplex frequency range without a diplex filter.

Cable network system for bidirectional communication at an enhanced duplex frequency range

A modular RF apparatus includes an RF portal and an RF expansion module configured to be coupled with the RF portal. The modular RF apparatus is configured to expand the number of outputs of the RF portal by adding the RF expansion module in a manner that minimizes an increase in the spatial footprint of the modular RF apparatus while allowing easy access to all ports of the modular RF apparatus. The RF portal and the RF expansion module are configured to interlock to create an integrated functional block. The modular RF apparatus are configured to permit upgrading of the RF portal by adding the RF expansion module without disrupting existing connections to the RF portal.

An ethernet bridge mounting arrangement includes a housing including a cover portion and a back portion and a wall mount. The housing is configured to be coupled with the wall mount, and the housing is rotatable relative to the wall mount about an axis that extends in a direction perpendicular to a rear surface of the housing between a first rotational orientation, where latching members extending from the housing can be received by and removed from latch openings in the wall mount, and a second rotational orientation, where the housing is prevented from being pulled away from the wall plate.

An entry adapter configured to communicate cable television (CATV) signals from a CATV network to one or more network devices and to communicate Multi-Media over Coaxial Alliance (MoCA) signals with a MoCA server, the entry adapter including one or more MoCA ports, and a signal combination device configured to direct the CATV signals toward one or more access ports without substantial attenuation, to substantially attenuate the CATV signals directed toward the one or more MoCA ports, to pass the MoCA signals from the one or more MoCA ports to the one or more access ports, and to pass the MoCA signals from the one or more access ports to the one or more MoCA ports.

Entry adapter for a cable television network

A network communication device includes a first output port, a second output port, and a converting circuit. The first output port may be in communication with an input port and may be configured to receive a first reduced-power version of the signal received at an input port. The converting circuit may be configured to receive a second reduced-power version of the signal, down-convert a high-frequency portion thereof, and produce a down-converted signal. The first and the second reduced-power versions of the signals are in the same frequency band. The second output port receives at least a portion of the down-converted signal such that the high frequency portion of the second reduced power version of the signal is attenuated before the signal is transmitted to a subscriber device.

A passive entry adapter system includes an external band rejection filter connected to an external network; an entry adapter connected to the external band rejection filter, an input port connecting the entry adapter to the external network; a directional coupler connected to the input port; a frequency-based signal separation device connected to a first terminal and comprising a high-pass terminal, and a low-pass terminal; a splitter connected to the high-pass terminal, where the splitter is configured to be connected to one or more first types of devices; and a broadband output port connected to a second terminal of the directional coupler. The broadband output is configured to be connected to one or more second types of devices. The entry adapter and the external band rejection filter are configured to prevent signals from a frequency band associated with in-network communications produced within an internal network from reaching the external network.

Passive entry adapter system for a CATV network

A tap includes an input configured to be connected to a line. The tap also includes a first signal conditioning circuit having a first signal conditioning effect on downstream signals, upstream signals, or both. The tap also includes a second signal conditioning circuit having a second signal conditioning effect on the downstream signals, the upstream signals, or both. The second signal condition effect is different than the first signal conditioning effect. The tap also includes one or more subscriber ports configured to be connected to a subscriber premises. The tap also includes a path-selection device connected to the input, the first signal conditioning circuit, and the second signal conditioning circuit. The path-selection device is configured to selectably route the downstream signals from the input, through the first and second signal conditioning circuits, to the one or more subscriber ports.

A network communication device includes an input port configured to receive a downstream signal from a network, a first output port in communication with the input port and configured to receive a first reduced-power version of the signal received at the input port, one or more second output ports, and a converting circuit configured to receive a second reduced-power version of the signal received at the input port, down-convert a high-frequency portion thereof, and produce a down-converted signal. The one or more second output ports receive at least a portion of the down-converted signal.

A modular passive RF apparatus includes a passive RF portal and a passive RF expansion module configured to be removably coupled with the passive RF portal. A male connector is configured to extend from a top surface of the passive RF portal, and a female connector is configured to extend from the first end wall of the passive RF expansion portal. The female connector is configured to slidingly engage the male connector in a direction parallel to the top surface of the passive RF portal in order to mechanically couple the passive RF expansion module with the passive RF portal, and the male connector is configured to prevent the female connector from being removed from the male connector in a direction perpendicular to the top surface of the passive RF portal.
