A computer-implemented method of multisensory speech detection is disclosed. The method comprises determining an orientation of a mobile device and determining an operating mode of the mobile device based on the orientation of the mobile device. The method further includes identifying speech detection parameters that specify when speech detection begins or ends based on the determined operating mode and detecting speech from a user of the mobile device based on the speech detection parameters.

Multisensory speech detection

A computing device may receive a data packet. The computing device may be operating a plurality of kernel-space software modules that are in a suspended state, and the computing device may also be operating a plurality of user-space software modules that are in the suspended state. It may be determined that the data packet is of a particular packet type. Data packets of the particular packet type may be consumed by any of a particular subset of the kernel-space software modules. While the user-space software modules remain in the suspended state, the computing device may further (i) transition at least some kernel-space software modules to a non-suspended state, (ii) consume, by a particular one of the non-suspended kernel-space software modules, the data packet, and (iii) transition the non-suspended kernel-space software modules to the suspended state.

Methods and systems for implementing wireless charging identification using a sensor are described. A device platform operating a device, such as a mobile electronic device, may be configured to determine that the device is in wireless communication with a charging surface by receiving and analyzing information from sensors. A battery or another entity associated with the device may receive a charge wirelessly from the charging surface through induction or another means. The device platform may determine if an orientation of the device relative to the charging surface has changed depending on the state of the charging process. In some examples, the device platform may use information from an accelerometer, gyroscope, or magnetometer to determine whether the device has moved. Based on whether the orientation of the device has changed relative to the charging surface, the device platform may be configured to provide feedback through one or more systems, such as audible notifications.

Wireless charging identification using sensors

In one implementation, a computer-implemented method includes detecting a current context associated with a mobile computing device and determining, based on the current context, whether to switch the mobile computing device from a current mode of operation to a second mode of operation during which the mobile computing device monitors ambient sounds for voice input that indicates a request to perform an operation. The method can further include, in response to determining whether to switch to the second mode of operation, activating one or more microphones and a speech analysis subsystem associated with the mobile computing device so that the mobile computing device receives a stream of audio data. The method can also include providing output on the mobile computing device that is responsive to voice input that is detected in the stream of audio data and that indicates a request to perform an operation.

Method, apparatus, and system for automatically monitoring for voice input based on context

A platform included in a device can be configured to execute instructions to operate the device. The platform can be configured to setup connectivity to a network provided by a data service provider by having an activated account with the data service provider. To activate the account, the platform can be configured to determine that subscription information requested by the data service provider is included in an existing profile associated with the device. Responsive to the determination the subscription information is included in the profile, the platform can be configured to provide information from the profile as the subscription information to activate the account with the data service provider and receive subscriber-level connectivity to the network.

Methods and systems for carrier activation using information from an existing profile

A computing device may receive an incoming communication and, in response, generate a notification that indicates that the incoming communication can be accessed using a particular application on the communication device. The computing device may further provide an audio signal indicative of the notification and automatically activate a listening mode. The computing device may receive a voice input during the listening mode, and an input text may be obtained based on speech recognition performed upon the voice input. A command may be detected in the input text. In response to the command, the computing device may generate an output text that is based on at least the notification and provide a voice output that is generated from the output text via speech synthesis. The voice output identifies at least the particular application.
