A system for drilling a wellbore includes a drill string, bottom hole apparatus, and a rotation regulator. The rotation regulator includes a compound planetary gear set with a first and second planetary unit. The first planetary unit is disposed in a proximal region of the rotation regulator from the drill string. The second planetary unit is disposed in a distal region of the rotation regulator from the drill string. The gear set includes a hollow central shaft. The central shaft is common between the first and second planetary units. The central shaft is of a different outer diameter at each planetary unit. A bearing is arranged between the first and second planetary units. The drill string, rotation regulator, and bottom hole apparatus are connected in series, so the rotation regulator mechanically transmits the rotation of the drill string into the bottom hole apparatus.

An opening cone for a mechanical stage collar is used during a cementing operation in a wellbore. The mechanical stage collar includes ports activated by the opening cone. The opening cone includes a cylindrical midsection and a conical end section defining a hollow path through the opening cone and a ball suspended in a cage in the cylindrical midsection between a first profile with a first set of ribs and a second profile with a second set of ribs. The second profile is disposed downhole of the first profile and the second set of ribs is pressure rated to rupture at a predetermined pressure and release the ball into the conical end section. The ball is configured to plug the hollow path of the opening cone when released into the conical end section to stop flow through the hollow path.

A system includes a casing string configured to be deployed into the wellbore, an inner string configured to deployed inside of the casing string, a light mud disposed in the casing-wellbore annulus and the casing-inner string annulus, an inner string fill up tool connected to the inner string and configured to displace the light mud in the casing-inner string annulus with a heavy mud while leaving the light mud in the casing-wellbore annulus, and a packer connected to the inner string fill up tool and configured to seal against the internal surface of the casing string to block the casing-inner string annulus. The packer comprises a return line having a return valve configured to open and close. The system further includes an annular ram of a blow out preventor configured to close around the casing string and seal the casing-wellbore annulus. The inner string fill up tool connected to the inner string is configured to displace the light mud inside the casing string with the heavy mud when the annular ram is closed, the packer is sealed against the internal surface of the casing string, and the return valve in the return line is open.

Fill up and circulation tool with return valve for inner string cementation

A system performs inner string cement operations in a wellbore. The system includes a stab-in stinger connected to a distal end of a drill string and a stab-in float shoe connected to a distal end of a casing. The stab-in float shoe includes a first check valve and a plug type rupture disc. The first check valve includes instructions configured to prevent a reverse flow of cement mixture. The plug type rupture disc is house between the first check valve and an outlet of the stab-in float shoe. The plug type rupture disc includes instructions configured to rupture at a predetermined threshold pressure and, once ruptured, permits flow of cement mixture from the annulus into the stab-in float shoe. A related method includes: enabling a stab-in stinger to stab-into a stab-in float shoe, starting the cementing operation and rupturing the plug-pe rupture discs at predetermined pressure.

A system includes a first tubular string within a wellbore and a collar coupled to a top of the first tubular string. The collar may include a body extending from a first end to a second end. The body includes an internal ring extending radially inward from an inner surface of the body. The internal ring includes at least two holes extending through a top surface of the internal ring to a bottom surface internal. Additionally, a second tubular string within the wellbore extends through the first tubular string. An outer ring of the second tubular string lands on the internal ring.

System and methods for a quick release collar in cementing casing strings

A downhole tool includes a support ring having an annular-shaped body, a thickness measured between an uphole side of the body and an opposite downhole side of the body, an extension distance measured between an inner diameter of the body and an outer diameter of the body, and one or more openings formed through the thickness of the body. A one-way valve is disposed in each opening formed through the support ring to limit flow through the support ring in a direction from the downhole side of the body to the uphole side of the body.

The apparatus includes at least one floating device, at least one receiver, a communication interface coupled to the at least one receiver, a processor coupled to the at least one receiver and the communication interface, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory includes instructions configured to perform a method that includes obtaining a start command to generate fluid level data, generating the fluid level data using the at least one floating device and the at least one receiver, and transmitting the fluid level data using the communication interface.

System and method to measure mud level of mud cap in a wellbore annulus

A conductor running and cementing bracket (CRCB) includes a plurality of support beams for supporting a conductor upon engagement with a conductor landing joint disposed on the conductor, wherein the plurality of support beams comprise a first set horizontally fixed to a second set. The CRCB further includes a side door elevator to grip the conductor thereby preventing further downhole movement at a landing level and a plurality of adjustable conductor extension sleeves arranged on the second set and extendable to variable lengths to accommodate conductors of varying diameters. The landing level of the conductor is below a rotary table level configured to hold a drill pipe via a rotary slip. Once the side door elevator is gripping the conductor, the conductor landing joint is removed and a drill pipe with a stinger is run into a wellbore. Upon running the drill pipe, a cementing operation is conducted.
