A system and method for allowing riders of virtual reality rides to enjoy and interact with real world props in a virtual reality environment while at an amusement park ride. The system stores and displays to the rider virtual representations of the tagged items they've brought along for the amusement park ride. Smart merchandise utilizes RFID tags along with a database of virtual characteristics to enable the virtual world representation of real world items.

System and method for integrating real props into virtual reality amusement attractions

A system for providing virtual reality imagery to a rider of an amusement attraction, the system having a headgear piece for securing a viewing screen to a head of the rider. The rider rides upon an actuated motion base that moves the viewing screen behind the user until a lap bar is secured over the user's lap.

System and method for providing individualized virtual reality for an amusement attraction

A system for providing virtual reality imagery to a rider of an amusement park ride having a headgear piece for securing a viewing screen to a head of the rider. The viewing screen is removable from the headgear piece to allow the headgear piece to be cleaned and sanitized.
