Embodiments of a compact pressure swing reformer are disclosed. Certain embodiments have a construction comprising multiple rotating reformer beds, high temperature rotary valves at the bed ends, and E-seals to seal the beds to the valves. Several possible designs for introducing reactants into the beds also are disclosed. The multiple reformer beds are configured to provide for pressure equalization and 'steam push'. The compact pressure swing reformer is suitable for use in fuel cell vehicle applications.

Compact pressure swing reformer

A gas separation device is disclosed. In particular, seal assemblies and adsorbent element constructions for a gas separation device such as a pressure swing adsorption device are disclosed. The seal assembly can be part of a rotary valve and can include a seal backer and a floating seal positioned within a bore in the seal backer. The floating seal is configured to press towards and seal against an adjacent rotor. Valve action is provided as apertures in the floating seal and rotor are brought into and then out of alignment as a result of relative rotation therebetween. The seal assembly can include two types of gas chambers to apply balanced sealing pressures over the sealing surface of the valve, one type configured to receive pressurized process gas from within the device and the other configured to receive gas from an independently controlled pressurized gas source. The adsorber elements in the device may comprise improved spacer cross support structures at the ends of wound laminate adsorbent structures.

Gas separation device

A hub adapter used to modify a bicycle wheel hub to provide for the mounting of a disc brake rotor and/or for the repositioning of the wheel spoke mount flange to accommodate the additional components of a disc brake system. The hub adapter may be fixed to the host non-disc wheel hub by fastening bolts passing through the original spoke mounting holes or by other fastening means. The hub adapter may provide standard mounting holes for a disc brake rotor to be fixed to the hub adapter with fastening bolts. The hub adapter provides alternate spoke mounting holes on an alternate spoke flange, positioned in such a way so as to provide adequate clearance for disc brake components such as the disc brake caliper assembly, or in such a way as to change the length of the spokes and to modify the wheel stiffness. The hub adapter effectively becomes integral to the host wheel hub and critical to the primary function of the wheel hub, that is transferring load from the frame to the wheel.
