A dispersion of silver particles and a method of making the dispersion and ink are described. The dispersion or ink may be an aqueous dispersion or ink and may produce silver images having improved properties such as an improvement in gloss.

Metallic dispersions for inkjet printing

The present invention relates to an inkjet ink composition comprising a liquid vehicle, a pigment, and a polymeric dispersant. In one embodiment, the pigment comprises a colorant having the formula A-(B)or is a carbon black pigment and the polymeric dispersant comprises a polymeric group and at least one group having the formula -A'-(B)(C), wherein A and A&#x2032; are organic chromophore groups. In a second embodiment, the polymeric dispersant comprises a polymeric group and an organic chromophore group capable of interacting with the pigment.

A particulate luminescent composition is disclosed that, when excited by electromagnetic radiation at a first frequency, emits electromagnetic radiation at a second frequency equal to or within 1500 cmof the first frequency. The luminescent composition comprises substantially spherical particles having a weight average particle size of less than about 10 &#x3bc;m and a particle size distribution such that at least about 90 weight percent of the particles are not larger than twice the average particle size.
