A method and system for communicating and delivering geo-coded alerts, notifications, and messages, based on a service-less communications device that has an internal GPS locator, utilizing both one to many primary communication channels and one to many non-primary communication pathways enabled, from one-to-many service-less wearable communication devices to one-to-many service-provided devices, such as SmartPhones, is disclosed.

Notification and alert method for wearable and/or other devices

Systems and methods for delivering alerts, notifications and messages, to and, if configured, responses from one to many users wearing technology designed for single and/or multiple media types, utilizing one to many non-primary communication pathways enabled are contemplated in which (a) a primary communication channel pathway, (b) a primary or non-primary control channel(s) is established, by wireless receiver and/or wired connection to a group of users, that (b) then allows an activation method type to provide an alert/notification/message method to one-to-many persons (i.e., users) and/or, one-to-many devices in an addressable manner that establishes a non-primary communication channel path that is parallel and unknown to the primary communication channel path. The overall method relates to a router function and media delivery routing technology that are actively listening on a primary communication/control pathway or a non-primary control channel.

In addition, the wearable device may also include connection to a specialized, logical audio router that manages non-primary communication channels and 'cut-ins' or 'super-imposition' functions for the delivery of alerts, notifications, and messages as an overlay on the primary communications channel that all users present may then hear, see, feel and/or respond via available methods through the appropriate primary and/or non-primary communications channel.

Systems and methods of notification and alert activation and delivery via transmission to users wearing technology designed for single and/or multiple media types are contemplated in which (a) a communication pathway is established, for instance either a wireless receiver and/or transceiver and/or a physical (e.g., wired) connection, that (b) allows an activation method type to provide an alert/notification to one-to-many persons (i.e., users) and/or, one-to-many devices in an addressable manner. The overall method consists of devices (including for example, wearable media with external and/or integrated delivery technology) that are actively listening on a communication pathway. If an activation method is utilized over the communication pathway and an activation is designated for specific device(s) assigned within the communication pathway, then a delivery method for that device(s) is invoked that processes and delivers the non-primary media (audio and visual) based on the command type, any local settings and the media type transmitted.

Notification and alert method for person(s) and/or devices(s)

Systems and methods of alert and notification transmission are contemplated in which a transceiver provides an alert/notification to a user(s) wearing a headset that provides hearing protection device with an integrated transceiver (e.g., radio) and on-board siren-voice alert function board. Typically, this device would be used in a loud noise area (&#x3e;+70 dB) that would otherwise prevent the user from hearing an alert and notification, such as a siren tone and/or Public Address announcement. While the alert and notification is silent, the device is contemplated to provide sufficient hearing protection (&#x3e;+15 dB) from the ambient surroundings. It is also contemplated that it could play local music through an audio input port/other receiving method. When an alert and notification command is communicated to a headset device's address (or globally) through the transceiver, the device(s) would then proceed to play, within the headset, the desired alert and notification message. This would be successful, as the ambient sound is suppressed around the wearer and the message clearly listened too, live and/or pre-recorded. The alert could also be in the form of a visual indication (e.g. LEDs, etc.), vibration, etc. generated from this same function board. The transceiver could be an unlicensed frequency (e.g., Wi-Fi, FRS, etc.) or a licensed frequency (VHF, UHF, Digital 800 MHz, etc.), and while preferred to be bi-directional communications, it could also function in an alert only mode. Further, by adding a GPS locator, a facility and/or site could give proximity warnings based on user skill level in negotiation the facility, perhaps based on training level and experience. Also, digital messages are contemplated where text messages could be converted to speech.

Headset hearing protection with integrated transceiver and siren alert device

Re-configurable modular food processing cells (10) consisting of rapidly re-configurable functional modules (50) are easily transported to any site for appropriate reconfiguration to process harvested crop material. Each cell (10) provides a shipping container-type enclosure (20), and is therefore highly transportable. Within each modular food processing cell are a plurality of functional modules (50), each module adapted for a specific food processing function, such as cleaning, grinding or filling or labeling containers. Transitional fixtures and fittings (80) allow the output of a first functional module to be input into a second functional module. A computer control system (30), carried by each cell (10), controls the operation of each module (50) by means of control circuitry (40) and video display instructions to the module operator personnel (16). A re-configurable deck flooring (60), and optionally a re-configurable ceiling (70), allows rapid rearrangement and customization of the interior floor plan and associated functionality of the container cell (10). While in a preferred embodiment of the invention the cells are housed within shipping containers, it in an alternate version of the invention the cells can be operated in lines that are within a standard facility, i.e., without a shipping container. In such a facility, the cells can be rapidly reconfigured to provide for relatively low scale production quantities, such as with gourmet or specialty foods.

Re-configurable modular food processing cells

Apparatus and method is disclosed for a data collection and monitoring system that utilizes a pen based hand held computer unit which has contained therein interaction software that allows the user to review maintenance procedures, collect data, compare data with historical trends and safety limits, and input new information at various collection sites. The system has a means to allow automatic transfer of the collected data to a main computer data base for further review, reporting, and distribution purposes and uploading updated collection and maintenance procedures. The hand held computer has a running to-do list so sample collection and other general tasks, such as housekeeping are automatically scheduled for timely completion. A done list helps users to keep track of all completed tasks. The built-in check list assures that work process will meet the applicable processes and procedures. Users can hand write comments or drawings with an electronic pen that allows the users to directly interface information on the screen.

Hand held data collection and monitoring system for nuclear facilities

For monitoring an environmental parameter such as the level of nuclear radiation, at distributed sites, bar coded sample collectors are deployed and their codes are read using a portable data entry unit that also records the time of deployment. The time and collector identity are cross referenced in memory in the portable unit. Similarly, when later recovering the collector for testing, the code is again read and the time of collection is stored as indexed to the sample collector, or to a further bar code, for example as provided on a container for the sample. The identity of the operator can also be encoded and stored. After deploying and/or recovering the sample collectors, the data is transmitted to a base processor. The samples are tested, preferably using a test unit coupled to the base processor, and again the time is recorded. The base processor computes the level of radiation at the site during exposure of the sample collector, using the detected radiation level of the sample, the delay between recovery and testing, the duration of exposure and the half life of the isotopes collected. In one embodiment, an identity code and a site code are optically read by an image grabber coupled to the portable data entry unit.
