Processes are provided for preparing molecular sieves of framework structure MEI, TON, MRE, MWW, MFS, MOR, FAU, EMT, or MSE. The process involves preparing a synthesis mixture for the molecular sieve wherein the synthesis mixture includes a morphology modifier L selected from the group consisting of cationic surfactants having a quaternary ammonium group comprising at least one hydrocarbyl group having at least 12 carbon atoms, nonionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, sugars and combinations thereof.

Dewaxing catalysts

Methods are provided for improving the yield of distillate products from hydroprocessing of gas oil feedstocks, such as vacuum gas oils. It has been unexpectedly found that stripping of gases or fractionation to separate out a distillate fraction during initial hydrotreatment of a feed can provide a substantial increase in distillate yield at a desired amount of feedstock conversion. The improvement in yield of distillate products can allow a desired level of conversion to be performed on a feedstock for generating lubricating base oil products while reducing or minimizing the amount of naphtha (or lower) boiling range products. Alternatively, the improvement in yield of distillate products can correspond to an improved yield during a single pass through a reaction system, so that distillate yield is increased even though a lubricant boiling range product is not generated.

Hydrocracking of gas oils with increased distillate yield

A supported catalyst comprises a zeolite having a silica to alumina molar ratio of 500 or less, a first metal oxide binder having a crystallite size greater than 200 &#x212b; and a second metal oxide binder having a crystallite size less than 100 &#x212b;, wherein the second metal oxide binder is present in an amount less than 15 wt % of the total weight of the catalyst.

This disclosure relates to a catalyst composition comprising (a) MCM-22 family material; and (b) a binder comprising at least 1 wt. % of a titanium compound based on the weight of said catalyst composition, wherein said titanium compound was anatase and rutile phases.

Catalyst composition and its use thereof in aromatics alkylation

This disclosure relates to a process for alkylating an aromatic hydrocarbon with an alkylating agent to produce an alkylated aromatic product, said process comprising contacting said aromatic hydrocarbon and said alkylating agent with a catalyst composition under alkylation conditions effective to alkylate said aromatic hydrocarbon with said alkylating agent to form an effluent comprising said alkylated aromatic product, wherein said catalyst composition comprising (a) MCM-family material; and (b) a binder comprising at least 1 wt. % of a titanium compound based on the weight of said catalyst composition, wherein said titanium compound was anatase and rutile phases.

This disclosure relates to a process for preparing a catalyst composition comprising (a) contacting a molecular sieve composition with a solution of a solvent and a solute under ion-exchange conditions to form an exchanged molecular sieve composition, wherein the solute comprises at least one of an amide compound, an imide compound, a strong proton donor, or any combination thereof, the solute has a solubility in the solvent of at least 0.05 g per 100 grams of the solvent, preferably at least 1 gram per 100 grams of the solvent; and (b) separating the exchanged molecular sieve from the mixture of the step (a).

Ion exchange process for making molecular sieve composition

A catalyst composition comprises a crystalline MCM-22 family molecular sieve and a binder, wherein the catalyst composition is characterized by an extra-molecular sieve porosity greater than or equal to 0.122 ml/g for pores having a pore diameter ranging from about 2 nm to about 8 nm, wherein the porosity is measured by Nporosimetry. The catalyst composition may be used for the process of alkylation or transalkylation of an alkylatable aromatic compound with an alkylating agent. The molecular sieve may have a Constraint Index of less than 12, e.g., less than 2. Examples of molecular sieve useful for this disclosure are a MCM-22 family molecular sieve, zeolite Y, and zeolite Beta.
