A door handle assembly for use with a door that includes an actuator plate configured for activating a door latch assembly and a door handle having a working end pivotally connected to the actuator plate and a free end opposite of the working end configured for manipulation by an operator, where the door handle freely pivots between a up position and down position relative to the actuator plate and only activates the latch assembly in the down position.

A door latch assembly is described with a convertible cam drive having a door bolt assembly including a sliding bolt configured for reciprocal sliding action between a latch position and a release position. Such an embodiment includes a cam drive assembly having a bolt actuator as well as a cam holder configured for placement within the cam receiving aperture of the base plate to accommodate the base plate being mounted in one of the plurality of orientations with respect to the door. The cam drive assembly is constructed and arranged for receiving the cam engaging portion of the door handle when pivoted from the rest position to the actuating position, thereby causing the sliding bolt to move from a latch position to a release position using the bolt actuator.

A door handle assembly for use with a door is provided with a base plate, a door handle having a working end pivotally connected to the base plate and a free end opposite of the working end configured for manipulation by an operator. An adapter plate mounted on the working end of the door handle and a cam lever are also included in the present door handle assembly. A securable end of the cam lever is affixable to the adapter plate, and a free end of the cam lever is configured for engagement with a cam, for activating a door latch assembly.

A strap joint rotating assembly is for use with a strapping machine. The strapping machine has a feed head for feeding the strapping material into the strapping machine, a strap chute through which the strapping material is passed and a sealing head to seal overlapping courses of the strapping material to one another to define a strap loop having a seal and defining a strap loop plane. The strap joint rotating assembly includes a driven wheel having an axis of rotation generally perpendicular to the strap loop plane and a pinch wheel that has an axis of rotation and is carried on a wheel block. The wheel block pivots to move the pinch wheel into and out of the strap loop plane. The pinch wheel, when in the strap loop plane, has its axis of rotation parallel to the axis of rotation of the driven wheel. The pinch wheel is further movable toward the driven wheel to pinch the strap between the driven wheel and the pinch wheel. The driven wheel is driven to rotate the strap loop around the load.

A strapping machine for positioning a strap material around an associated load, tensioning the strap material and sealing the strap material to itself around the load, includes a frame, a slack box having a slack box cover and a first portion of a strap path having a cover over a portion thereof. A strapping head is mounted to the frame. The strap path cover extends over a portion of the strapping head. The strapping head includes a winder for tensioning the strap material around the load. A chute is mounted to the frame and is configured for positioning the strap material around the load and to release the strap therefrom to pull the strap material to the load. At least one enclosure encloses a portion of the strap path. The enclosure has a door having a quick-release latch. The door has a slot therein and the quick release latch has a projection that is movable across the slot for defining a pintle opening. The projection is movable to define a door pivoting position and a door removal position. The latch includes a release handle for moving the projection out of the slot to define the door removal position for removing the door from the enclosure. The door includes a lower hinge pintle engageable with an opening in the frame.

A strapping machine for positioning a strap material around an associated load, tensioning the strap material and sealing the strap material to itself around the load includes a frame, a controller, a slack box having a slack box cover and a first portion of a strap path from the slack box. The first portion of the strap path has a strap path cover over a portion thereof. The strap path cover is mounted to the frame by a hinge common with the slack box cover. The strap path cover and slack box cover are openable independent of each other. A strapping head is also mounted to the frame. The strap path cover extends over a portion of the strapping head.

A strapping machine for positioning a strap material around an associated load, tensioning the strap material and sealing the strap material to itself around the load has an improved strap chute release system. Such a machine includes a frame, a strapping head mounted to the frame including at least a pair of wheels for feeding strap material and for retracting strap material and configured to seal a first course of strap material onto an overlying second course of strap material, and a strap chute mounted to the frame and configured for receiving the strap material from the strapping head and positioning the strap material around the load. The strap chute is configured to release the strap therefrom as the strap material is pulled to the load. The strap chute has an inner wall and a transverse wall defining a strap track from which the strap material is released. The inner wall is moveable away from the transverse wall for releasing the strap. The chute includes at least one torsion element operably connected to the inner wall to urge the inner wall from the transverse wall to a form a gap between the inner wall and the transverse wall.

A strapping machine for positioning a strap material around an associated load, tensioning the strap material and sealing the strap material to itself around the load includes a strap chute having sequential strap release. The strapping machine includes a frame and the strap chute is mounted to the frame. The strap chute includes at least one fixed wall cooperating with at least one movable wall that, in a first position, defines a strap path through the strap chute and in a second position, releases the strap material from the strap path. A strapping head is also mounted to the frame. The strapping head is configured to convey the strap material into the chute and around the chute and to take-up and tension the strap material around the load. The strap chute includes at least one strap chute brush disposed between the at least one movable wall and the load. The strap chute brush has a length having a plurality of bristles transversely disposed along the length of the brush, the bristles extend proximal to the at least one fixed wall and define a gap between an end of the bristles and the fixed wall. The bristles and the gap are configured to sequentially release the strap material from the chute as the strap material is pulled onto the load.

A strapping machine for positioning a strap material around an associated load, tensioning the strap material and sealing the strap material to itself around the load includes a frame, a strapping head mounted to the frame, a strap chute mounted to the frame that is configured to position the strap material around the load and release the strap therefrom to pull the strap material to the load and a work surface mounted to the frame at about a bottom of the strap chute. A control system is included. A panel carries at least a portion of the control system. The panel formed as a door for an enclosure. The panel is removable from the enclosure.

A strap path guide cover, comprising part of the outer housing cover of a strapping machine, is pivotally mounted such that it may be rotated away from the housing of the strapping machine to expose a strap path. The cover defines parts of numerous elements of the strap path created through the head of the strapping machine. The cover defines a number of openings for cooperatively engaging corresponding alignment pins extending from the head, such that alignment of the cover, and thus the strap path, is made accurately and easily. The cover may be rotated down for cleaning of jams and debris from the strap path, and may be rotated to a first position, aligning the strap path, for a rapid return to use. The present invention further defines an upper strap path guide cover which also pivotally opens to allow for cleaning of the upper path and pivotally closes in alignment.

Strapping machine with improved access doors

A strapping machine having a strap accumulator box with an easy access panel is provided. The strapping machine includes a lever that allows for the quick opening of the easy access panel and the quick clearing of the strapping machine of strap debris and jams. The strapping machine of the present invention further includes a lever for quick release of the access panel. The access panel is spring biased in a first closed position and, upon the clearing of strap debris and jams, the access panel is returned to its first closed position.
