The primary indicators identify one or more potential faults in the system under test. Each supplemental indicator provides information either validating or invalidating a particular primary indicator or association of primary indicators.

Methods for optimizing diagnostics reasoner models

The invention is a detection system that provides for background removal from a field of view (FOV) of spectra. A panoramic field of regard may be partitioned into a large number of FOV's. An FOV may include spectra including that of a target substance. Such detection may require removing the spectra other than that of the target. This may amount to removal of the background with an estimated background developed from spectra of one or more FOV's which may be similar to the background of the FOV with the target. An estimation of the background may be a sum of a number of FOV spectra where each spectrum is assigned a weight, the total amount of the weights being one.

Signal spectra detection system

Systems, methods and devices are provided that allow more efficient transfer and processing of sensor information in a hierarchical data system. The system provides for a plurality of component area managers (CAM), each of the CAMS being in operable communication with at least one of a plurality of transducers that monitors a phenomena of a component and in operable communication with a data bus. A CAM comprises a processor in operable communication with the at least one transducer of the plurality of transducers, wherein the first processor is configured to record data generated by the at least one transducer of the plurality of transducers, to reduce the recorded data, to place the reduced data on the data bus. The system also includes a transducer selection module controlled by the first processor by which the first processor selects one of the plurality of transducers to record and a rolling buffer in operable communication with the first processor and in operable communication with the at least one transducer by which to record the data generated by the at least one transducer of the plurality in a first-in-first-out manner.

Vehicle system monitoring and communications architecture

A detection system which provides for continuous background estimation removal from a sequence of spectra. A panoramic field of regard may be partitioned into a large number of fields of view (FOVs). An FOV may have a chemical vapor cloud. The small FOV may maximize detection of the cloud. Such detection may require removing the spectral characteristics other than that of the target cloud. This may amount to removal of background spectra with an estimated background developed from one or more FOVs which may or may not be similar to the background of the FOV with the target cloud. A number of estimated background spectra of the other FOVs may be used individually to greatly increase the detection probability of the target chemical.

Spectral signal detection system

A gyroscope for determining an angular rate output. The gyroscope includes a first demodulator configured to demodulate an angular rate measurement at a first bias modulation frequency to determine the angular rate signal and a second demodulator configured to demodulate the angular rate measurement at a second bias modulation frequency to provide a signal with ARW information. The gyroscope further includes an ARW estimator that provides an output that is proportional to ARW that is then stored in a memory. The second bias modulation frequency is an even order harmonic of the first bias modulation frequency.

Systems and methods for monitoring angle random walk

A system and method are provided for supplying electromechanical actuator (EMA) health status information to a control system. A determination is made as to whether the EMA has experienced a fault. If the EMA has experienced a fault, a fault-based position limit and a fault-based rate limit of the EMA are determined, based on the fault. A design position limit and a design rate limit of the EMA are supplied. An updated position limit of the EMA is determined based on at least the design position limit and the fault-based position limit, and an updated rate limit of the EMA is supplied based on at least the design rate limit and the fault-based rate limit.

Electromechanical actuator and effector health management system and method

A system for determining a level of angle random walk (ARW) associated with a fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) includes first and second photodiodes. The first photodiode is configured to receive a first light signal from a light source associated with the FOG. The second photodiode is configured to receive a second light signal from a fiber optic coil associated with the FOG. First and second analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are operable to respectively convert the first and second light signals into corresponding respective first and second digital signals. A digital relative-intensity-noise (RIN) subtraction element is configured to receive the first and second digital signals and output a third signal based on the first and second digital signals. An electronic device is configured to determine a first noise level associated with the third signal, and determine the ARW level from the first noise level.

Method and apparatus for monitoring angle random walk of a fiber optic gyroscope

A monitoring method and system to monitor an environment in which an object is located includes monitoring one or more environmental factors associated with corrosion of materials in the environment. Thereafter, an exposure index representative of cumulative exposure of the object to the one or more environmental factors is determined. For example, such environmental factors may include chloride ion concentration, pH level, humidity, and temperature.
