A reducer for a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), comprising a primary air pathway with a primary metering valve and a secondary air pathway with a secondary metering valve. The reducer has an Emergency Breathing Support System (EBSS) outlet that is fluidly connected to a branch line of the secondary air pathway.

A respirator mask for automatically activating an air-saver switch within a regulator by rotation of the regular as the regulator is mounted and dismounted from a facepiece of the mask. The mask includes a facepiece including a regulator engagement region having an aperture and a protrusion proximate the aperture, and a regulator including a regulator body having a facepiece engagement region mateably engageable with the regulator engagement region, a fluid flow path within the regulator body, and a latch within the regulator body, the latch causing obstruction of the fluid flow path when actuated. The latch is engageable with the protrusion, the regulator being rotatable within the facepiece aperture between a first rotational position and a second rotational position, rotation of the regulator within the facepiece aperture from the second to the first rotational position engaging and actuating the latch to obstruct the fluid flow path.

Respirator mask with air-saver switch

A respirator mask for automatically activating an air-saver switch within a regulator by rotation of the regular as the regulator is mounted and dismounted from a facepiece of the mask. The mask includes a facepiece including a regulator engagement region having an aperture and a protrusion proximate the aperture, and a regulator including a regulator body having a facepiece engagement region matably engageable with the regulator engagement region, a fluid flow path within the regulator body, and a latch within the regulator body, the latch causing obstruction of the fluid flow path when actuated. The latch is engageable with the protrusion, the regulator being rotatable within the facepiece aperture between a first rotational position and a second rotational position, rotation of the regulator within the facepiece aperture from the second to the first rotational position engaging and actuating the latch to obstruct the fluid flow path.

A device, and method, for situational awareness of an emergency scene for first responders uses an unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a sensor package in populated or otherwise restricted areas. The unmanned aerial vehicle is assigned to a control center for a designated incident while automatically tasking the unmanned aerial vehicle with the initiation of the incident response to autonomously proceed to the incident prior the control center taking active control of the unmanned aerial vehicle.

Unmanned aerial vehicle for situational awareness to first responders and alarm investigation

A charge station is provided for filling a gas cylinder with gas. The charge station includes a gas output port configured to be fluidly connected to a supply of gas. The gas output port is configured to be fluidly connected to the gas cylinder for filling the gas cylinder with gas from the supply of gas. The charge station also includes a control system operatively connected to the gas output such that the control system is configured to control filling of the gas cylinder, and a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader operatively connected to the control system, the RFID reader configured to read data from an RFID tag on the gas cylinder.

Method and system for filling a gas cylinder

A charge station is provided for filling a gas cylinder with gas. The charge station includes a gas output port configured to be fluidly connected to a supply of gas. The gas output port is configured to be fluidly connected to the gas cylinder for filling the gas cylinder with gas from the supply of gas. The charge station also includes a control system operatively connected to the gas output such that the control system is configured to control filling of the gas cylinder, and a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader operatively connected to the control system, the RFD reader configured to read data from an RFID tag on the gas cylinder.

A canister filling system is provided for independently filling multiple canisters from a common set of storage stations prioritized in a cascaded manner. The system includes first and second fill stations configured to receive and independently fill canisters with pressurized gas. First and second storage stations store gas at corresponding first and second charge pressures, respectively. A supply-chain joins each of the first and second fill stations to both of the first and second storage stations. First and second valve assemblies are provided in the supply-chain to monitor, independent of one another, the canister pressures at the corresponding first and second fill stations. The canister pressures represent the pressure within corresponding canisters. The first and second valve assemblies automatically open and close to permit and prevent discharge of gas from the first and second storage stations, independent of one another, to automatically switch between the first and second storage stations based on the canister pressures. In one embodiment, the valve assembly includes a combination of sequence valves and check valves. Alternatively, the valve assembly may be controlled by electronic sensors and electronic solenoids. The electronic sensors detect the canister pressures and the charge pressures at the storage stations. The electronic solenoids open and close the valves based on the sensed canister pressures.
