An interbody system including an implant and a tool for inserting and expanding the medical implant and locking the implant in place is disclosed. The medical implant may include an expandable body defined by a superior endplate and an inferior endplate that are hingedly coupled and may be expanded and lordosed. The superior and inferior endplate may include gripping protrusions that mate and/or directly engage with recessed jaws of disclosed surgical tool. The surgical tool may include a vertically movable jaw to expand and contract the implant when engaged with the gripping protrusions of the implant. The surgical tool may also include a drive portion that engages the drive feature of the lock screw with the drive end of the surgical tool lock the implant while in an expanded position.

A surgical instrument includes a first member defining an axis and including a cutting surface. A second member includes a cutting surface that is rotatable relative to the first member. A third member includes an outer surface. The cutting surface of the second member is rotatable relative to the outer surface to transfer the cut tissue along the axis. Spinal implant system and methods of use

An orthopedic trialing instrument may include a shaft extending from a first end to a second end, a handle coupled to the shaft, and a first interbody trial disposed on the first end. In various embodiments, the first interbody trial may include a first bone screw indicator configured to visually represent a corresponding bone screw trajectory. In some embodiments, a double-sided orthopedic trialing instrument may include a first interbody trial on a first end and a second interbody trial on a second end. In various embodiments, each of the first interbody trial and second interbody trial may have at least one bone screw protrusion configured to visually represent a corresponding bone screw trajectory. In some embodiments, a plurality of orthopedic trialing instruments having differently sized interbody trials may be provided as a kit.

A surgical instrument includes a first member defining an axis and having a scraping surface configured to scrape tissue. A second member includes a cutting surface that is rotatable relative to the first member. The second member has a maximum length defined by opposite end surfaces of the second member. The end surfaces are each disposed within the first member. A third member includes an outer surface defining at least a portion of a passageway configured for disposal of the scraped tissue. The third member is fixed with the first member. The cutting surface is rotatable relative to the third member to transfer the scraped tissue along the axis. Systems and methods are disclosed.

The at least one capture element being axially translatable relative to the first member such that the at least one capture element is outwardly radially movable relative to the axis and inwardly radially movable relative to the axis to capture a spinal plate. A surgical instrument comprises a member defining a first longitudinal axis and being connectable with an image guide via a lock for orientation relative to a sensor to communicate a signal representative of a position of a spinal implant connected with the member. A rod is disposable in a co-axial orientation with the member and is engageable with the spinal implant and rotatable via an actuator to fix the spinal implant with the member. Systems, implants, spinal constructs and methods are disclosed.

A surgical implant and a method for the making the surgical implant is provided. The surgical implant includes various granules incorporated into an upper surface and a lower surface of a body portion thereof. The granules can be pressed into the upper surface and the lower surface via physical force using at least one mold portion. The physical force applied by the at least one mold portion can deform and/or extrude the upper surface and the lower surface to impregnate these surfaces with the granules. The granules can provide the implant with bioresorbable and/or mechanically-reinforced properties.

Porous surgical implant and method of making same

A surgical implant includes a body portion, a first tier, and a second tier. The first tier is attached to an upper surface of the body portion, and the second tier is attached to a lower surface of the body portion. Each of the upper surface and the lower surface of the body portion includes channels formed therein. The first tier includes a first layer including a plurality of first slats and a second layer including a plurality of second slats, where the plurality of first slats and the plurality of second slats intersect one another to form openings therebetween. The second tier includes a third layer including a plurality of third slats and a fourth layer including a plurality of fourth slats, where the plurality of third slats and the plurality of fourth slats intersect one another to form openings therebetween. When the first tier and the second tier are attached to the body portion, a passageway is formed through the openings formed in the first tier to the channels in the upper surface of the body portion, and a passageway is formed through the openings formed in the second tier to the channels in the lower surface of the body portion.
