An MMU with prefetch functionality is provided. The MMU includes a first TLB, burst buffer, second TLB and control logic. The first TLB is configured to fetch a first set of one or more first page table entries based, at least in part, on a virtual address, and before a request to access a client address is received from a client. The burst buffer stores a plurality of second page table entries from a respective page table associated with a first page table address. A second translation lookaside buffer is configured to fetch a first set of one or more second page table entries of the plurality of second page table entries from the burst buffer based, at least in part, on the virtual address, and before the request to access a client address is received from the client.

Prefetch memory management unit for real-time virtual memory address translation

A system for lossless switching of traffic in a network device may be implemented when a network switch is integrated into a gateway device, or with any other data source. A processor of the gateway device may receive queue depth information for queues of the network switch. The processor may prevent data from being transmitted to congested queues of the network switch, while allowing data to be transmitted to uncongested queues. In this manner, data loss can be avoided through the network switch for data sourced from the gateway device, such as audio-video data retrieved from a hard drive, audio-video data received from a tuner, etc. Furthermore, re-transmission at higher layers can be reduced. Since the subject system observes congestion for each individual queue, only traffic destined to that particular, congested, queue is affected, e.g. paused. Traffic to non-congested queues is not affected, regardless of traffic class or egress port.

In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for encoding and sharing media clips via a social networking provider responsive to a user interaction via a single 'like' or 'share' button. Media may be constantly buffered as the user watches the program, such that the user need not initiate recording, enabling the user to quickly share amusing or media clips as they happen live. The device may decode, scale or subsample, and compress or re-encode the media to take up less space in a buffer of the device and/or to comply with copyright fair use requirements. Responsive to the user interaction or &#x201c;share&#x201d; command, the device may transfer the contents of the buffer to a social media service along with instructions to generate a post to the social network identifying the user, media, and/or buffer contents.

The first processor may be configured to establish a network connection with a client device, determine whether the network connection is associated with AV traffic, transfer the network connection to a second processor when the network connection is associated with AV traffic, and process non-AV traffic associated with the network connection when the network connection is not associated with AV traffic. The second processor may be configured to receive the network connection from the first processor and process the AV traffic associated with the network connection.

The depacketizer may accumulate multiple payloads and may write the multiple payloads to the off-chip memory in a single memory transaction when a threshold amount of the payloads have been accumulated. The processor core may receive the header information items and may generate a single descriptor for accessing multiple payloads corresponding to the header information items from the off-chip memory. The packetizer may generate a header for each payload based at least on on-chip information and without accessing off-chip memory. Thus, the subject system provides efficient memory bandwidth utilization, e.g. at least by reducing the number of off-chip memory accesses.

A system and method for processing video information. Various aspects of the present invention may provide a decoder module that decodes block encoded video information. The system may, for example, include a first memory module, communicatively coupled to the decoder module, that stores video processing information utilized by the decoder module for decoding a current video block from a current video frame. The system may also, for example, include a second memory module, communicatively coupled to the decoder module, that stores reference video information from a previous video frame utilized by the decoder module for decoding the current video block. In a non-limiting exemplary scenario, the first memory module and the second memory module may be communicatively coupled to the decoder module with independent respective data and/or address buses.

Systems and methods are disclosed for supporting a pull data flow scheme in an A/V decoder. One method relates to processing data using an A/V decoder comprising receiving the data from a data stream and recovering a system time reference from the received data. The received data is processed using a clock asynchronous to the system time reference and pulled into an output device using a system adapted to support a pull data flow. The processed data is output using a time reference locked to the system time reference.

A method of handling retransmission and memory consumption tracking of data packets includes storing data packets from different data channels in respective transmitter ring buffers allocated to the data channels when the data packets are not marked for retransmission, and facilitating retransmission of data packets from a specified ring buffer corresponding to a retransmission sequence number. The method also may include storing received data packets out of sequence in respective receiver ring buffers, marking a descriptor indicating a tail location of the stored data packets, and reclaiming memory space in the ring buffer based on the marked descriptor. The method may include storing a payload address associated with received data packets, marking a descriptor associated with the payload address to indicate the stored data packets have been consumed for processing, and reclaiming memory space when a register contains an indication of the stored payload address based on the marked descriptor.

A video processing system may be operable to utilize multi-band sharpening to process luma signals for image signals. The luma signal may be decomposed into a plurality of frequency band components, wherein each component may be processed separately using different sharpening gains and/or offsets. The multi-band processed components may be combined to generate sharpened output luma signals. The multi-band sharpening may be performed utilizing peaking processing, and the input luma signal and/or LTI sharpened luma signals may be combined with the multi-band peaking sharpened signals to generate the sharpened output luma signals. Corresponding chroma signals may also be adjusted to generate sharpened output chroma signals. Luma and/or chroma sharpening operations may be further adjusted based on coring, clipping avoidance, luma statistics, color region detections, and/or curve control parameters. The graphics data from the graphics sources may comprise one or both of 2D graphics data and 3D graphics data.
