A tool includes an elongated shaft and a socket positioning assembly disposed on the shaft. A rear end portion of the shaft is configured to be mounted for rotation by a hand tool or a power tool. The shaft is configured to support a first socket and a second socket. Each socket is selectively positionable on the shaft in either a use configuration or in a storage configuration. The socket positioning assembly includes a socket support member configured to support the first socket in its use configuration proximate the front end portion of the shaft, and a socket retainer configured to retain at least the second socket in its storage configuration on the shaft. The storage configuration is between the socket retainer and the rear end portion of the shaft. The socket retainer is positioned between the first socket and the second socket.

An inflator includes a housing, a handle formed by the housing, a motor housed in the housing, a trigger configured to activate the motor, an inlet having an inlet axis that is generally parallel or concentric with a longitudinal axis of the motor, an outlet which is transverse to the inlet and a fan configured to draw air in through the inlet and blow air out through the outlet. The inlet is generally transverse to the handle. The position of the outlet is rotatable relative to the handle.

A tool bit holding system for a power tool includes a bottom support bracket configured to be removably coupled to a base of a handle of the power tool. An elongated arm includes a bottom end portion configured to be coupled to the support bracket and a front bit holder portion configured to removably receive and retain a plurality of tool bits. A top support bracket is configured to be coupled to a top end portion of the arm and to be supported adjacent the front end portion of the housing so that the elongated arm is disposed in front of the handle.

A power tool accessory includes a housing having a rear end portion and front end portion; an input shaft at least partially received in the rear end portion, extending along an axis, and configured to be coupled to a tool holder of a rotary power tool; a threaded shaft received in the housing and rotationally driven by the input shaft; a blade holder configured to move along the axis upon rotation of the threaded shaft; and a cutting blade configured to be retained by the blade holder. A workpiece holder is coupled to the front end portion of the housing and is configured to hold an elongated member. Upon rotation of the input shaft, the threaded shaft rotates, causing the blade holder to move axially toward the front end portion of the housing, causing the blade to move at least partially into the workpiece holder to cut the elongated workpiece.

A tool bit holding system for a power tool includes a snap-on bit holder including a curved plate contoured similar to a contour of a top surface of a power tool housing and configured to removably rest on the top of the power tool housing. A plurality of legs extend from lateral ends of the curved plate, each leg including a hook portion configured to be removably received in recesses in lateral sides of the power tool housing to removably retain the curved plate on the top surface of the power tool housing. A bit holding portion includes at least one of a magnetic plate, a box, and one or more bit receiving slots coupled to a top face of the curved plate. The at least one of the magnetic plate, the box, and the one or more bit receiving slots is configured to removably retain at least one of a tool bit, a fastener, and a supplemental tool bit holder.

An angle guide assembly for being coupled to a table body that slides along a longitudinal axis relative to a base of a saw. The angle guide assembly includes an attachment member configured to attach the angle guide assembly to the table body; a guide body and an angled fence pivotally coupled to the guide body between a first orientation in which a workpiece can be placed at an angle to the longitudinal axis along a first guide surface of the guide body by placing the workpiece against the fence surface, and a second orientation in which a workpiece can be placed at an angle to the longitudinal axis along a second guide surface of the guide body by placing the workpiece against the fence surface.

A tool for driving threaded fasteners includes a tool bit extending along a longitudinal axis and including a rear shank of polygonal cross section, a front working end, and an intermediate portion having a front shoulder, a rear shoulder, and a reduced diameter annular groove. A floating magnet sleeve receivable over the tool bit includes a tubular body, retention member projecting radially inward from a rear end of the body, and a magnet disposed at a front end of the body. The sleeve is axially moveable by a float distance between rearward and forward positions such that the magnet can engage a fastener head coupled to the working end as the sleeve approaches the forward position. The float distance is less than a tip distance between a front end of the magnet and a front tip of the working end when the sleeve is in the rearward position.

Tool bit for driving threaded fasteners

A tool bit assembly includes a tool bit having a shaft with a first working region disposed at a first end of the shaft and a first reduced diameter portion proximate the working region and disposed between a first shoulder and a second shoulder. A floating sleeve has a rear portion with a pair of opposed window openings, a front portion supporting a magnet, and a pair of balls, with each ball disposed in one of the window openings. The floating sleeve is receivable over the tool bit with the magnet proximate the first working regions and the balls received in the first reduced diameter portion to allow the floating sleeve to move between a first position in which the balls abut the first shoulder and a second position in which the balls abut the second shoulder.

A tap holder includes a body extending along an axis and having a front end portion defining a front opening and an externally threaded portion. A gripping assembly includes a spring having first and second legs, a first jaw mounted to the first leg, and a second jaw mounted to the second leg. Each jaw has a tapered outer wall and an inner wall with the inner walls of the jaws facing each other. A sleeve has an internally threaded bore threadably received on the externally threaded portion of the body, and an inner tapered surface configured to abut the tapered outer walls of the first and second jaws. As the sleeve is rotated relative to the body, a distance between the first and second gripping surfaces may be adjusted for gripping a tap between the inner walls of the first and second jaws. Each of the inner walls includes first and second gripping surfaces, the first gripping surfaces defining a first width therebetween for gripping taps having a first range of head sizes, and the second gripping surfaces defining a larger second width therebetween for gripping taps having a second, different range of head sizes.

Torsion bit

A fastener driving tool includes a shaft with a working region disposed at a first end of the shaft and configured to drive a fastener, a shank portion disposed proximate a second end of the shaft and configured to couple the shaft to a power tool, and a reduced diameter torsion zone disposed between the shank portion and the working region, the torsion zone extending from a first shoulder closer to the working region to a second shoulder closer to the shank portion. A length (L) and a radius (c) of the torsion zone have been optimized so that approximately half of breakages occur in the working region and approximately half of breakages occur in the torsion zone.

A bit holder assembly for a rotary hand or powered tool, includes a body having a hex shank at its rearward end and a retraction collar slidably disposed on the body. The body has a coaxial hex socket formed therein to allow a tool bit to be inserted thereinto. A coil spring biases the retraction collar forwardly and biases a retaining clip toward the bottom of an angular slot formed in the body. The bit is removed by sliding the retraction collar rearwardly, to compress the coil spring and allow the retaining clip to retract back up the slot. A ring magnet is disposed at the forward end of the retraction collar to magnetize a fastener to retain the fastener to the bit.
