An apparatus includes a first layer having an RF lossy material, a second layer having the RF lossy material, and a plurality of conductive or resistive pads arranged in a planar array between the first layer and the second layer. The apparatus may also include a plurality of thermal vias, where each thermal via may correspond to one of the pads, may extend through at least the first layer, and may be formed of a thermally-conductive material. Dimensions of each pad may be selected based on a desired resonant frequency band, and the desired resonant frequency band may be associated with RF energy transmitted by at least one RF source in proximity to the apparatus.

Tunable radio frequency (RF) absorber and thermal heat spreader

A low loss and low packaged volume coaxial RF cable according to embodiments is configured to conduct electrical signals, such as RF energy signals. The coaxial RF cable includes a three-layer structure that includes a non-conductive composite braid disposed between a first conductive composite braid and a second conductive composite braid. The coaxial cable is a ultra-flexible, compressible conductor configured to be folded multiple times within a low volume area without damage.

According to one embodiment, an antenna array includes a plurality of first antenna elements having a first polarity and a plurality of second antenna elements having a second polarity. A feed circuit couples the plurality of first antenna elements and the plurality of second antenna elements to an antenna drive circuit. The feed circuit is configured on a plurality of columns extending in a direction that is oblique to the plurality of first antenna elements and the plurality of second antenna elements.

Dual-polarized antenna array

An endfire monopole array in a low cross section, low profile package with the area used being vertical or tube-like. The array is aerodynamically shaped on one or more sides in order to minimize wind resistance. The antenna array includes an RF transparent housing having a tapered end portion which is substantially 'V' shaped, a first plurality of parallel endfire monopole antenna elements secured to a stripline or microstrip within the housing, each antenna element thereof extending in a first direction and a second plurality of parallel endfire monopole antenna elements secured to a stripline or microstrip within the housing, each antenna elements of the second plurality extending in the first direction, the first plurality being spaced from the second plurality in the first direction. An energy feeding structure is coupled to the antenna elements, with a dielectric layer disposed over that structure and a ground plane disposed over the dielectric layer. A line bisecting the 'V' is normal to the first direction.

High gain compact scanning personal communication system array

An abrading and cutting tool assembly particularly adapted for use in auto body repair is disclosed. The assembly includes a tool body of a rectangular, disc, or cylindrical shape, and means on the tool body for connecting it to a drive assembly such as a reciprocating or revolving sander assembly. A plurality of successive spaced cutting and abrading blades, all of which have a toothed, saw-like cutting edge, are secured at an acute angle to the surface of the tool body. The ideal angle the blades make with the surface of the tool body is 45 degrees, and all of the blades are inclined and facing the same direction for abrading and cutting.
