Adjustable mattress foundations generally include a mattress support surface including a head and back section hingedly connected to an intermediate seat section at one end and a leg and foot section hingedly connected to the intermediate seat section at another end. The intermediate seat section includes spaced apart upper and lower panels, wherein the lower panel is hingedly connected to the head and back section and slideably engaged with side frame members of the foundation, and wherein the upper panel is stationary and hingedly connected to the leg and foot section. A linear actuator is operatively coupled to a linkage assembly to independently effect inclination or declination of the head and back section relative to the intermediate seat section and is further operative to effect an increase or decrease in a length of the intermediate seat section by movement of the lower panel relative to the upper panel.

Adjustable mattress foundation

A person-support apparatus comprises a frame, a person support assembly, and a siderail. The person-support assembly is coupled to the frame and is configured to rotate about a first rotational axis with respect to the frame between a first position and a second position. The siderail is movably coupled to the person support assembly and configured to move therewith. The siderail is in a first angular orientation with respect to the frame when the person support assembly is in the first position and in a second angular orientation with respect to the frame when the person support assembly is in the second position. The first angular orientation is substantially the same as the second angular orientation.

Siderail mechanism

A patient-support apparatus includes a patient-support deck movable from a use position to a stowed position. The patient-support deck is configured to engage receivers of the patient-support apparatus to support the deck in a cantilevered configuration. The patient-support deck may be secured to the patient-support apparatus by a locking mechanism. A storage structure is configured to support the patient-support deck in a stowed position. The storage structure is configured to deflect under load to prevent damage to the storage structure or patient-support deck.

An apparatus comprises a frame and a transport assembly supporting the frame. The transport assembly is configured to selectively move relative to the frame between a transport position and a brake position. A portion of the frame frictionally engages a portion of the transport assembly in the brake position to affect a brake application that resists the transportation of the frame. The portion of the frame is disengaged from the portion of the transport assembly in the transport position to allow for transportation of the frame.

Transport apparatus

A patient support apparatus comprises a lower frame, a lift mechanism, a drive mechanism, and an upper frame. The lower frame includes a lift drive configured to at least one of expand and contract the lift mechanism. The lift mechanism is pivotably coupled with the lower frame to rotate about a rotational axis. A drive mechanism is coupled between the lift mechanism and the lower frame. The drive mechanism is configured to rotate the lift mechanism about the rotational axis. The upper frame is supported on the lift mechanism and responsive to the rotation of the lift mechanism to rotate a patient about the rotational axis.

Laterally rotating patient support apparatus

A person-support apparatus includes a frame, a plurality of sensors, and a controller. The plurality of sensors are configured to determine a person's position relative to the frame. The controller is operatively coupled to the sensors. The controller determines whether an exit condition has been met. A light source is operatively coupled to the controller. The light source is activated by the controller when the controller determines that the exit condition has been met.

A person-support apparatus comprises a frame, a first siderail, and a second siderail. The frame includes a first support section and a second support section. The first support section is configured to pivot between a first support position and a second support position with respect to the second support section. The first siderail is coupled to the first support section and configured to move therewith. The second siderail is coupled to the frame and is configured to move along the frame between a first position and a second position. The second siderail is configured to be positioned adjacent to the second support section in the first position, and adjacent to the first support section and below the first siderail in the second position.

A patient support apparatus is convertible between a conventional bed position, having a generally horizontal sleeping surface upon which a person lies in a supine position, and a chair egress position, allowing a person to exit the support from a sitting position. The patient support comprises a deck and a foot panel removably coupled to the deck. The foot panel may allow a low seated height while the bed is in the chair egress position.

A siderail assembly includes a frame, a link mechanism coupled to the frame and movable between first and second positions, and a panel coupled to the linkage and movable therewith between a first position and a second position. The link mechanism is configured to provide compound motion such that the siderail panel follows specific path. The siderail may include electronic controls to limit the movement of the linkage based on the position of the siderail assembly and various portions of a patient-support apparatus on which the siderail may be positioned.
