Provided herein are pouched products including a chromogenic material or an electronic component, wherein the chromogenic material and the electronic component are responsive to a stimulus. The stimulus may be a change in pH, a change in temperature, or exposure to moisture. Such pouched products can be employed to detect various changes associated with the pouched product.

Stimulus-responsive pouch

The disclosure provides for an oral composition, the oral composition including at least one active agent, at least one filler component, and water in an amount sufficient such that the oral composition has a total moisture content of about 15% to about 30% by weight or greater based on the total weight of the oral composition.

Moist oral compositions

The disclosure provides for oral compositions and products that can have a relatively low water content and/or a relatively low water activity. Such compositions and products can comprise at least one active ingredient, a filler/carrier component, and water in an amount of less than 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition. Further, the compositions and products can have a water activity of about 0.85 or less.

Oral compositions with reduced water activity

The disclosure provides products configured for oral use, the products including one or more active ingredients and a beet material, at least a portion of the one or more active ingredients being bound to the beet material. In some embodiments, oral products as described herein may include a beet material, a filler material, and one or more active ingredients, at least a portion of the one or more active ingredients being bound to the beet material and the filler material. Active ingredients included in the product may be configured for release according to different release rates, which rates may depend at least in part on the material to which the active ingredient is bound.

Oral composition with beet material

The invention provides a multi-layered smokeless tobacco product comprising two or more formulations with varying properties. In some embodiments, the smokeless tobacco products provide combinations of different organoleptic properties within the same product. In certain embodiment, these combinations allow for a modified release profile of active ingredients as the user enjoys the smokeless tobacco product. The invention further provides methods for making and using the smokeless tobacco product.

Multi-layer smokeless tobacco composition

Products configured for oral use and methods for preparing such products are provided. In some embodiments, oral products described herein may comprise at least one active ingredient in an amount of 10 weight percent or less, a sugar alcohol, and a gum, such that the product is in the form of a pastille. In some embodiments, oral products described herein may include at least one active ingredient in an amount of about 10 weight percent or less, a sugar substitute, and a sugar alcohol syrup, such that the product is in the form of a lozenge.

Oral compositions and methods of manufacture

A composition configured for oral use is provided, the composition including a filler in an amount of at least 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, and at least one active ingredient including one or more botanical materials, stimulants, amino acids, vitamins, antioxidants, cannabinoids, pharmaceutical agents, or a combination thereof. The composition further includes a salt and at least one sweetener. The composition has a moisture content of at least about 40% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition.

In some embodiments, oral products described herein may comprise an active ingredient in an amount of 10 weight percent or less, a sugar alcohol, and a gum, such that the product is in the form of a pastille. The disclosure provides for solid products configured for oral use, the products including a carrier material; a releasable material; and wherein the releasable material is combined with the carrier material such that the releasable material is configured for sustained release from the solid product when the solid product is positioned in an oral cavity for a consumer. In another aspect, the disclosure provides for a method of preparing a solid product for oral use, the method comprising providing a releasable material in sprayable form; providing a pouch formed of a fibrous material; and spraying a flavor component onto a least a portion of the pouch one or both of before and after filling the pouch with the oral composition.

The disclosure provides products configured for oral use, the products including one or more agents adapted to or configured to reduce irritation that may be associated with release of a component from the products. Xylitol in particular may be useful as an irritation reducing agent. The disclosure further provides methods of reducing irritation associated with the release of one or more components from an oral composition or product.
