The invention relates to a dental light curing apparatus, having a display device on or at a housing wall of the light curing apparatus, especially on the upper face of the light curing apparatus, having a plurality of light sources, which are arranged below said wall and facing the wall, wherein at least part of the wall is transparent to the light radiation emitted from the light sources, wherein the wall comprises a smooth outer surface, and an equally essentially smooth inner surface of the wall is provided with a negative pattern (), and especially is printed, leaving the symbols () free, which negative pattern () is light-impermeable or essentially light-impermeable, and that the wall is superimposed onto the light source structure, which comprises partition walls (), which separate the light sources () from each other.

Dental light curing apparatus

The invention relates to a light curing device comprising a light source that is arranged in the hand-held light curing device and has in particular a plurality of mutually adjacent chips which are arranged next to one another and form a light source and in front of which a light guiding element extends. The light curing device also comprises at least one sensor, which is sensitive to light in the emission wavelength range of the light source, and a control device for controlling the light source during the polymerization process, the sensor being connected to the control device. The control device continuously or at least periodically monitors the output signal of the sensor during the polymerization process and adapts the light output and/or the polymerization time in the event of a reduction of the output signal. The control device adds up the reflected radiation detected via the light exit surface () in order to calculate a possible location deviation, and the light exit surface () of the light guide is larger than or equal in size to the largest dental restoration () to be cured, the light exit surface having a cross-sectional area of more than 1 cmin particular.

Dental light curing device

The invention comprises a light curing device with a light source () and a light guiding device, in particular a light guiding rod () with a light entry surface () that extends next to the light source () if regarded in the emission direction of the light source (), and with at least one sensor () that is arranged next to the light entry surface (), and with a control device () that is arranged within a handpiece () of the light curing device (). The light curing device () further comprises a base station () of the light curing device (). The base station () is provided with a second light source () and a second light sensor () for the bidirectional optical communication with the handpiece (), which bidirectional communication takes place through the light guiding device (light guiding rod), in particular in the frequency range of visible light or UV light and in particular in a modulated manner.

Light curing device

The invention relates to a dental light-curing device () provided for dental material to be cured, which comprises a handpiece () and a base station, wherein the handpiece () has a light source, in particular having a plurality of LED chips (and), which&#x2014;with respect to the optical axis&#x2014;are arranged one next to the other, a control device () for the light source and at least one sensor, which is arranged adjacent to the light source, wherein&#x2014;again with respect to the optical axis&#x2014;a light guiding device, in particular a light guide rod (), extends in front of the light source, which light guide rod () has a passband for wavelengths which comprises at least blue visible light and, in particular, also green visible light and UV light, and having a selecting device for control programs of the control device (), in particular a push button on the handpiece (). The invention is characterized by comprising a control device () and also a 'pre-curing' control program, which can be selected by means of the selecting device, and in which the light-curing device can be activated with a secondary wavelength range, which is different from a light-curing main wavelength range, and the light radiation of which is outside the sensitivity range of the dental material to be cured. The control device () automatically switches on the light source in the main wavelength range in order to pre-cure excess glue () in dental restorations, in particular adhesive crowns or adhesive bridges, if at least one sensor detects light reflected from a tooth surface in the secondary wavelength range.

A hand-held light curing apparatus is used with a housing (), a light source (), in particular at least one LED, which is connected to a control unit (), an energy source () and at least one energy storage unit in the form of at least one double layer capacitor (). It is provided that the light source () is fed simultaneously by the energy source () which is formed as a local energy source such as an accumulator and the double layer capacitor ().
