Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first edge application server (EAS) discovery message from an application client that is external to the UE. The UE may transmit a second EAS discovery message to an edge enabler server (EES) based at least in part on the first EAS discovery message. The UE may receive, from the EES, an EAS response message. The EAS response message may indicate a failure of a discovery request associated with the application client or the EAS response message may indicate an EAS associated with the application client. The UE may transmit an indication of the failure of the discovery request or an indication of the EAS to the application client. Numerous other aspects are described.

Application client and edge application server discovery with service authorization and location service

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for identifying edge application servers (EASs) to support one or more services of an application client (AC) running on a user equipment (UE). An AC of a UE may send a request for an edge enabler client (EEC) of the UE to identify one or more EASs for one or more services of the AC. The EEC may receive the request and may perform an EAS discovery procedure to identify the one or more EASs. The EEC may then send a response to the AC including identifiers of the one or more EASs (e.g., if the EAS discovery procedure indicated that these EASs are available). Once the AC receives the response, the AC may connect to each EAS of the EASs indicated by the EEC to support a corresponding service of the AC.

Server availability checking for edge computing services

The apparatus may be configured to generate, for a set of data packets associated with an application, a set of parity bits, generate an encoded data transmission associated with a UPF including the set of data packets and the generated set of parity bits, and to output, for a receiving device associated with the application, the encoded data transmission. A user equipment (UE) may monitor one or more first conditions pertaining to non-cellular communications between the UE and a non-cellular network while the UE is operating in a dual networking mode for steering, switching, or splitting traffic (e.g., an access traffic steering, switching, and splitting (ATSSS) mode) between the non-cellular network and a cellular network. The UE may predict an availability status of at least the non-cellular network based on at least one of the one or more first conditions. In some cases, the UE may determine whether to change dual networking modes based on the availability status and may communicate in accordance with the same or a different dual networking mode using at least one of the cellular network, the non-cellular network, or a combination thereof based on the prediction.

Techniques for operating in accordance with a dual networking mode for steering, switching and splitting traffic

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, an indication of one or more data radio bearers between the UE and the network node that are configured for application data unit (ADU) traffic. A wireless communications entity, such as a user equipment (UE), a base station, a network core, or an application server, may identify a round-trip time (RTT) latency requirement that may pertain to a round-trip latency in wireless communications between the UE and the base station. The wireless communications entity may identify a one one-way directional delay budget that satisfies the RTT latency requirement for an application of an application server. The application server may be in communication with the UE via the base station. The wireless communications entity may modify a value of the one-way directional delay budget and transmit a message that is associated with the modified value of the one one-way directional delay budget.
