Described herein is a compact combined active and passive cooling system to cool electronic audio-video circuitry, wherein all of the AV circuitry and cooling system fits within an enclosure that can be installed in a standard wall gang-box located in interior walls of structures. The combined active and passive cooling system uses convection, conduction, and radiation in active and passive cooling modes to dissipate heat generated by the AV circuitry into the room in which the gang box is located, and further uses the wall plate surface to dissipate heat into the room.

Dual mode cooling system for use with in-wall video-codec and other electronic circuits

A switcher device comprises a multiplexer coupled in-between at least one input and output cards. The multiplexer detects the presence of an event signal from an activated sink. In response to the detection of the event signal, the switch dynamically switches to a closed position in order to enable the at least one source to authenticate with the input card and the output card to authenticate with the at least one sink for security protocol encryption. In response to the non-detection of the event signal, the switch switches dynamically to an open position in order to disable the at least one source from authenticating with the input card, therefore the output card also does not attempt to authenticate with the at least one sink for security protocol encryption.

Enabling/disabling display data channel access to enable/disable high-bandwidth digital content protection

Presented is a video distribution system that includes a transmitter that receives an uncompressed source video signal and includes a compressor for compressing the uncompressed source video signal into a compressed video signal having a bandwidth lower than the bandwidth of the uncompressed source video signal, a reformatter configured for reformatting the compressed video signal to simulate an uncompressed video signal having a bandwidth lower than the bandwidth of the uncompressed video signal. The video distribution system also includes a receiver that receives the compressed video signal that simulates an uncompressed video signal and includes a decompressor configured for decompressing the compressed video signal that simulates an uncompressed video signal into a decompressed video signal, and output port configured for transmitting the decompressed video signal to a display.

System and method for compressing video and reformatting the compressed video to simulate uncompressed video with a lower bandwidth

A master transmitter distributes a plurality of audio channels to one or more expansion receivers as a multiplexed audio stream. Control information is also transmitted between the master transmitter and the expansion receivers. Both the control information and the multiplexed audio stream are transmitted on the same cable allowing for reduced clutter and cheaper material and installation costs.

Digital audio distribution

A switcher device comprises a multiplexer coupled in-between at least one input and output cards. The multiplexer detects the presence of an event signal from an activated sink. In response to the detection of the event signal, a processor changes an address of an HDCP receiver from a first address to a second address for enabling the at least one source to authenticate with the input card and enabling the output card to authenticate with the at least one sink for security protocol encryption. In response to the non-detection of the event signal, the processor changes the address of an HDCP receiver from the second address to the first address for disabling the at least one source from initiating a first authentication with the input card, therefore the output card also does not attempt to initiate a second authentication with the at least one sink for security protocol encryption.
