An elevator system includes a car which can move in an elevator shaft and has a car roof which has a walkable region. A safety element is arranged in the region of a roof edge of the car roof for reducing the gap between the elevator shaft wall and the car in order to protect people from falling into the elevator shaft. The safety element has a toe board section for creating a toe protection and for laterally bordering the walkable region, wherein the toe board section is arranged such that it is inwardly offset in relation to an outer edge of the safety element and in relation to the roof edge by a safety distance.

An apparatus for sealing a gap between an elevator car door and the associated car wall during car travel includes a sealing strip of resilient material with wall portions that can be reversibly stretched to bridge and seal the gap.

A device moves a door seal for a displaceable door panel of an elevator car in an elevator installation with an elevator shaft having shaft doors. The movable door seal is arranged so that the door panel in a closed state is sealed off. The device includes an entrainer unit connected with the door panel and upon stopping of the elevator car at a floor executes a part movement. The device also includes a coupling mechanism mechanically connecting the entrainer unit with the door seal to bring the door seal out of a sealing position into an open position when the entrainer unit executes the part movement.

An elevator counterweight comprises a counterweight frame constructed from several vertical beams and at least three horizontal crossbars wherein the vertical beams penetrate the horizontal crossbars and form therewith several grid fields in which weight elements are arranged and fixed. The two outermost grid fields disposed above the lowermost horizontal crossbar are open towards the side and can each receive a counterweight guide shoe and a safety brake device.
