A plating system comprises a plating solution and an apparatus for control of the plating solution, the apparatus including a Raman spectrometer for measurement of organic components, a visible light spectrometer for measurement of metallic components, and a pH probe. The plating solution can be sampled continuously or at intervals. Dosing of the plating solution adjusts for components consumed or lost in the plating process. The method of dosing is based on maintaining a desired composition of the plating solution.

Method and apparatus for plating solution analysis and control

Provided herein are methods, apparatuses and systems for fabricating photovoltaic cells and modules. In certain embodiments, the methods, apparatuses and systems involve coating ferromagnetic substrates with thin film solar cell materials and using magnetic force to constrain, move or otherwise manipulate partially fabricated cells or modules. According to various embodiments, the methods, apparatuses and systems provide magnetically actuated handling throughout a photovoltaic cell or module fabrication process, from forming photovoltaic cell layers on a substrate to packaging the module for transport and installation. The magnetically manipulated processing provides advantages over conventional photovoltaic module processing operations, including fewer mechanical components, greater control over placement and tolerances, and ease of handling. As a result, the methods, apparatuses and systems provide highly efficient, low maintenance photovoltaic module fabrication processes.

Systems methods and apparatuses for magnetic processing of solar modules

Provided herein are high throughput apparatuses for fabricating wire current collector and/or interconnect assemblies for solar cells. In certain embodiments, the wire assemblies include uniformly pitched serpentine wires. According to various embodiments, the apparatuses include a plurality of link heads connected to collapsible links, with the heads spaced apart when the links are in an uncollapsed position and stacked when the links are in a collapsed position. Alternating link heads engage opposite sides of the wire such that, when collapsed, the wire is threaded through engaging members of the heads in a serpentine configuration.

Systems, methods and apparatuses for magnetic processing of solar modules

Provided herein are apparatuses for fabricating wire current collector and/or interconnect assemblies for solar cells. In certain embodiments, the wire assemblies include uniformly pitched serpentine wires. According to various embodiments, the apparatuses include opposing re-circulating chain link assemblies having uniformly pitched posts and a wire weaving assembly configured to weave wire around the re-circulating posts. Also provided are methods of fabricating solar cells including the wire assemblies.

Automated testing of solar panel modules employs a gantry system to continuously transfer modules in and out of a workstation where the modules undergo solar simulation current voltage testing and high voltage safety measurements. The gantry system includes a carriage and a clamp device that is adopted to receive and secure the perimeter of each module, which has a positive and negative junction box, located on its back side and contact pins are inserted into the junction boxes during testing. The clamp has an electrically conductive inner perimeter that engages the corresponding outer perimeter of module. High voltage testing determines the level of current leakage between the interior and exterior of the module. A takt time of fifteen seconds or better is achieved.
