An authorization system includes a controller of an external computing device communicatively connected to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The controller obtains a mission kit that includes software for controlling a piece of equipment configured to be assembled on the UAV. The controller receives a license that is associated with a user and determines, based on the license, whether the piece of equipment is authorized for operation on the UAV as controlled by the user. Responsive to determining that the piece of equipment is authorized, the controller initiates transmission of at least some of the software of the mission kit to the UAV for installation by the UAV to allow the user to operate the piece of equipment.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for collaborative aircraft checklists. An example apparatus includes at least one memory including instructions and at least one processor to execute the instructions to at least launch actions of a checklist on a user interface of a first client device, the actions including a first action to be completed in sequence to execute a flight stage of a flight project, the flight project to be accessed by the first, second, and third client devices, in response to an update of the first action by the first client device, generate a first message including the update, in response to the second client device validating the update, distribute a second message including the update to the third client device to update the checklist on the third client device, and cause the aircraft to execute the flight stage based on the update.

Systems, methods, and apparatus for collaborative aircraft checklists

A method of generating an aircraft display includes receiving data at a device. The data includes information associated with a first aircraft and one or more other aircraft in an airspace associated with the first aircraft. The method includes determining, at the device, estimated flightpaths for the first aircraft and the one or more other aircraft. The method includes generating, at the device, a detect and avoid gauge display based on a current flightpath of the first aircraft and the estimated flightpaths. The method also includes sending, from the device to a display device coupled to the device, the detect and avoid gauge for display. The detect and avoid gauge is configured to display a flightpath indicator to indicate a direction of travel of the first aircraft and is configured to display alert bands related to projected separation violations with respect to the one or more other aircraft.

A user interface presented to an operator of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may be presented to facilitate the ease of operation of the UAV. The information displayed in the user interface may be customized by the operator to display selected data. The display configuration data may be saved and imported into other systems for future use. Various entities related to one or more UAVs may be presented in a hierarchical tree structure illustrating the relationship between the entities. Electronic checklists may be presented to a user to facilitate addressing common and emergency situations.

Systems and methods for configurable user interfaces

Example methods and apparatus to deploy and recover a fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicle via a non-fixed wing aircraft are described herein. An example method includes tracking a location of a non-fixed wing aircraft in flight, tracking a location of a fixed wing aircraft in flight, positioning the non-fixed wing aircraft relative to the fixed wing aircraft based on the locations of the non-fixed wing aircraft and the fixed wing aircraft and coupling, via a gripper, the fixed wing aircraft to the non-fixed wing aircraft in mid-flight at a recovery location.
