A vascular intervention device delivery system, such as for implanting a self expanding stent, includes a thumbwheel rotatably mounted in a handle. A catheter has a proximal end attached to the handle and a distal carrier segment for mounting a stent thereon. A retractable sheath is movable to a position retracted proximally to uncover the distal carrier segment. A pull with a curved cross section extends between the thumbwheel and the retractable sheath. An idler wheel with a perimeter notch is rotatably mounted in the handle proximal to the thumbwheel. A pin is movably in the handle between a first position received in the perimeter notch to block rotation of the idler wheel, and a second position outside of the perimeter notch to permit rotation of the idler wheel. The pull wraps around the idler wheel to return in a direction for being wound onto a spool of the thumbwheel.

Thumbwheel actuated vascular intervention device delivery system

A vascular intervention device delivery system includes a thumbwheel rotatably mounted in a handle. A termination assembly is mechanically connected to the handle. A catheter extends through the termination assembly and has a proximal end attached to the handle, and a distal carrier segment for mounting a vascular intervention device. A retractable sheath is movable from a first position covering the distal carrier segment to a second position retracted proximally to uncover the distal carrier segment. A pull extends between the thumbwheel and the retractable sheath, and through the termination assembly. A latch is positioned in the handle and moveable from a locked position at which the latch engages the radially outward thumb surface, and an unlocked position at which the latch is out of contact with the thumbwheel. A pusher, which is partially positioned outside of the handle, is operable to move the latch from the locked position to the unlocked position. The retractable sheath moves responsive to rotation of the thumbwheel.

Embodiments include a fiducial deployment system with a handle configured for actuation of the same, the handle including a collet mechanism actuatable for controlled, one-at-a-time deployment of fiducials. A fiducial may include one or more protuberances configured to engage one or more slots in a needle of the system. The needle may be configured to deliver a plurality of fiducials to a target location in serial fashion, one at a time. In certain embodiments, echogenic placement of fiducials may present certain advantages. The handle includes an actuation mechanism with a collet and plunger actuation member configured for incrementally or otherwise controlledly deploy one or more fiducials at a time by advancing a sty let through and/or retracting the body of a slotted needle in which fiducials are disposed with a fiducial protrusion extending into the needle slot, which also includes retaining structures that do not impede the needle lumen.

An endoscopic tissue-sampling needle includes an elongate needle shaft having a proximal and a distal shaft portion. The proximal shaft portion includes an inner tubular core that may be constructed of a same material as the distal shaft portion, having a longer length and a smaller outer diameter than the distal shaft portion. The distal shaft portion extends into and is fixedly attached to an inner diameter of a distal shaft portion lumen. The distal shaft portion lumen is configured for collection of patient tissue, with a distal penetrating tip and/or a side aperture with a cutting edge configured to excise tissue from a target site in a patient body. The proximal shaft portion includes polymer coating around the inner tubular core, which is configured to provide an outer diameter for the proximal shaft portion that may be substantially the same as the outer diameter of the distal shaft portion.

Flexible biopsy needle

Embodiments include a fiducial deployment system with a handle configured for actuation of same. A fiducial may include one or more protuberances configured to engage one or more slots in a needle of the system. The needle may be configured to deliver a plurality of fiducials to a target location in serial fashion, one at a time. The handle includes an actuation mechanism with a recessible-toothed rack and actuation member(s) configured for incrementally or otherwise controlledly deploying one or more fiducials at a time by advancing a stylet through and/or retracting the body of a slotted needle in which fiducials are disposed with a fiducial protrusion extending into the needle slot, which needle slot also includes retaining structures that do not impede the needle lumen.

Ratchet-slide handle and system for fiducial deployment

The present embodiments provide an endoscopic access system comprising a handle including a proximal handle segment and a distal handle segment. A sheath extends distally from the distal handle segment. A flexible cannula having proximal and distal ends and lumen extending therebetween is sized to be advanced through a lumen of the sheath. The handle has a coupled state in which the proximal handle segment is engaged to the distal handle segment, and where the flexible cannula is disposed through at least a portion of both the proximal and distal handle segments. The handle further has an uncoupled state in which the proximal handle segment is disengaged from the distal handle segment, and where the flexible cannula is disposed only through the distal handle segment.
