Exemplary methods of and system for generating an antimicrobial wipe to clean and disinfect a surface contaminated with bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments, the method includes applying non-thermal plasma to a moistened wipe to activate a liquid in the wipe. In some embodiments, the method includes applying non-thermal plasma to a liquid and then applying the activated liquid to a wipe. In one embodiment of a system for generating an antimicrobial wipe the system includes a housing having an opening; a supply of wipes disposed within the housing; a non-thermal plasma generator disposed within the housing; a power supply electrically coupled to the non-thermal plasma generator; and a feed system disposed within the housing, wherein the feed system moves one or more wipes from the supply of wipes past the plasma generator and out of the opening. As the feed system moves the wipes past the plasma generator, the plasma generator applies non-thermal plasma to the wipes.

Methods of and system for generating antimicrobial wipes

A cleaning, sanitizing or disinfecting scrubbing device includes a body, a non-thermal plasma generator and damp wipe. Generated plasma activates fluid in the wipe. The device may include spacer posts between the body and wipe and a conductive mesh between the body and wipe or embedded in the wipe. Another embodiment includes a reservoir for holding a water-based fluid, a fluid delivery element connected to the reservoir by a tube through which the fluid can flow and a non-thermal plasma generator. The non-thermal plasma generator activates the fluid. In one embodiment the scrubbing device is a mitt. In another embodiment the scrubbing device is a glove.

Scrubbing device for cleaning, sanitizing or disinfecting

A cleaning, sanitizing or disinfecting scrubbing device includes a body, a non-thermal plasma generator and damp wipe. Generated plasma activates fluid in the wipe. Exemplary apparatuses and methods of killing or deactivating bacteria are disclosed herein. An exemplary apparatus for killing or deactivating bacteria includes a plasma vapor chamber. The plasma vapor chamber has a vapor inlet for allowing a vapor into the chamber, a high voltage electrode, one or more grounding electrodes. The one or more grounding electrodes at least partially surrounding the plasma vapor chamber. The plasma vapor chamber includes an outlet for allowing fluid to flow out of the chamber. When the chamber is filled with vapor for a period of time sufficient to saturate the chamber with vapor, the high voltage electrode is energized to generate plasma throughout the chamber.

Plasma vapor chamber and antimicrobial applications thereof

Exemplary methods and systems for killing or deactivating spores include applying a fluid to a surface containing a spore; and applying direct or indirect plasma to the surface for a period of time. In some embodiments, the fluid includes water. In some embodiments, the spore isand in some is. In some embodiments, the fluid is in the form of a vapor, a fog, a spray, a mist or an aerosol, which may be activated prior to or after applying the fluid to a surface. In some embodiments, peroxynitrite is created in the fluid during the method. Another exemplary embodiment of killing or deactivating a spore includes treating spores with direct plasma or indirect plasma for a period of time and applying an antimicrobial to the spores. In some embodiments, the antimicrobial is an alcohol, a bleach or an alcohol-based sanitizer.
