Steel for hot stamping, a hot stamping process and a hot stamped component, in which the steel for hot stamping contains in weight percentage C: 0.2-0.4%, Si: 0-0.8%, Al: 0-1.0%, B: 0-0.005%, Mn: 0.5-3.0%, Mo: 0-1%, Cr: 0-2%, Ni: 0-5%, V: 0-0.4%, Nb: 0-0.2%, Ti: ≤0.01%, and impurity elements such as P, S, N unavoidable during smelting. The relationship*Mo+16*Mn+14*Cr+5.3*Ni≥30% is satisfied when B≤0.0005%, and 0.4-1.0% Al is contained when 0.0005%<B≤0.005%.

Provided in the present disclosure is a method of heat treating a high-strength steel, wherein the high-strength steel comprises, by weight: 0.30-0.45% C, 1.0% or less Si, 0.20-2.5% Mn, 0.20-2.0% Cr, 0.15-0.50% Mo, 0.10-0.40% V, 0.2% or less Ti, 0.2% or less Nb, and a balance of Fe and other alloy elements and impurities, wherein the above alloy elements make Eq(Mn) according to the following formula (1) no less than 1.82, which method comprises the steps of 1) austenitizing; 2) carbide precipitation; and 3) tempering. The hot stamped component of the present invention is provided with a coating of aluminium or an aluminium alloy on at least one surface of the base steel, the coating is produced by interdiffusion between the base steel and a precoating of aluminium or aluminium alloy, and the coating has a thickness of 6 to 26 &#x3bc;m.
