An electrical connector with an insulative housing and a plurality of contacts retained thereto. The housing includes a base and a tongue extending forwardly from the base. Each first contact includes, along the front-to-back direction perpendicular to the transverse direction, a front first contacting section, exposed above a mating face of the tongue, a rear first soldering section extending out of the housing, and a first connecting section located therebetween wherein in the pair of first different contacts, the first connecting sections are transversely offset from the corresponding first contacting sections and toward each other so as to have therebetween a distance, in the transverse direction, smaller than that between the corresponding first contacting sections.

High frequency electrical connector

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a plurality of contacts retained within the housing as a contact module. The housing includes a base and a mating tongue forwardly extending from the base. The contacts are arranged with two rows contacting sections respectively exposed upon two opposite surfaces of the mating tongue, and one row mounting sections for mounting to a same plane of a printed circuit board. Each contact has a linking section between the contacting section and the mounting section. The contacts are grouped by one grounding contact associated with a pair of neighboring differential pair signal contacts in an isosceles triangular configuration wherein the grounding contact is located at the top apex. The linking section of grounding contact of the outermost group is widened compared with those of the remaining contacts for lowering the corresponding impedance.

Contact arrangement of electrical connector

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing enclosing a plurality of terminals and enclosed within a metallic shell. The shell forms a receiving cavity in which said housing is retained. The shell includes opposite top and bottom plates with a plurality of spring tangs split therefrom and extending into the receiving cavity. A top extension unitarily extends rearwardly from a front edge of the top plate and includes a front stationary base section intimately positioned upon the top plate, and a rear deflectable section including a plurality of spring fingers rearwardly extending from a rear end of the front base section in an oblique manner away from the top plate. The front base section forms a plurality of openings corresponding to free ends of the spring tangs for accommodating the corresponding free ends, respectively.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector includes a base seat, a plurality of contacts fixed in the base seat, and a shielding shell surrounding the base seat. The shielding shell defines a body portion retained in the base seat, a rear wall attached a rear face of the base seat and a plurality of soldering portions extending outside of the body portion. The electrical connector defines a mounting surface, a lower edge of the rear wall is higher than the mounting surface and defines at least one board-lock portion to improve the resonant frequency.
