An apparatus for forming an anastomosis between adjacent intestinal sections of tissue is provided. The apparatus includes a circular surgical stapler having an anvil assembly with an anvil shaft and an anvil, the circular surgical stapler further having a tubular body portion with an annular knife and a body portion shaft selectively attachable to the anvil shaft; and a seal structure for deposition between the intestinal sections of tissue including a hub configured to engage attachment structure on at least one of the anvil shaft and the body portion shaft. The attachment structure is positioned so that the seal structure is located between the intestinal sections of tissue when the circular surgical stapler is disposed within the intestinal sections of tissue.

Annular adhesive structure

An applicator device for use in surgical procedures is disclosed. The device includes an applicator assembly, an atomizing tip, and a regulator assembly. The applicator assembly has a handle, an applicator intake port and a double-barreled syringe. The double-barreled syringe includes a first cylinder and a second cylinder. The atomizing tip is provided at a distal end of the handle and the atomizing tip is in fluid communication with the double-barreled syringe. The atomizing tip includes a proximal end configured to receive and mix a first and a second composition from the double-barreled syringe. The regulator assembly includes a first regulator, a second regulator and a third regulator. The first regulator is configured for engagement with the first cylinder, the second regulator is configured for engagement with the second cylinder, and the third regulator is configured for engagement with the applicator intake port.

Dual air regulated spray applicator

An assembly for joining tissue is provided and includes an anvil assembly and a body portion juxtaposed with respect to one another along a shaft and arranged so as to be approximated with respect to one another; and an applicator supported on the anvil assembly and configured for retaining a wound treatment material therein and for dispensing the wound treatment material therefrom. A method for joining tissue is provided and includes the steps of dispensing the wound treatment material from the applicator so as to distribute wound treatment material onto at least one of a first tissue section and a second tissue section; and approximating the anvil assembly and the body portion to one another so that the first tissue section and the second tissue section are in contact with one another with the dispensed wound treatment material interposed therebetween.

A kit for storing and applying an adhesive removing device comprising an enclosure which includes a base portion and a removable top layer releasably secured to the base portion; an adhesive removing device including at least one wiping mechanism which includes at least one absorbent portion; and a biocompatible composition including a solvent and a moisturizing agent embedded in the absorbent portion of the wiping mechanism. A method for storing and applying an adhesive removing device comprises a series of steps for using the adhesive removing device to remove an adhesive from a surface.

Wound closure adhesive remover

A surgical stapling apparatus is provided and includes a cartridge assembly defining a tissue contacting surface and a longitudinally extending elongate slot, an anvil assembly defining a tissue contacting surface, and a longitudinally extending elongate slot. A surgical buttress is releasably secured to at least one of the tissue contacting surface of the cartridge assembly and the tissue contacting surface of the anvil assembly by at least one anchor. A central knife blade is slidably disposable in the longitudinal extending elongate slot of the cartridge assembly and the anvil assembly, and a knife blade is supported in a distal end portion of at least one of the cartridge assembly and the anvil assembly. The distal knife blade is actuatable by the central knife blade upon an actuation of the central knife blade.

Surgical stapling apparatus

A surgical stapling apparatus is provided and includes a cartridge assembly defining a tissue contacting surface and a longitudinally extending elongate slot; an anvil assembly defining a tissue contacting surface and a longitudinally extending elongate slot; a surgical buttress releasably secured to at least one of the tissue contacting surface of the cartridge assembly and the tissue contacting surface of the anvil assembly by at least one anchor; a central knife blade slidably disposable in the longitudinal extending elongate slot of the cartridge assembly and the anvil assembly; and a knife blade supported in a distal end portion of at least one of the cartridge assembly and the anvil assembly, wherein the distal knife blade is actuatable by the central knife blade upon an actuation of the central knife blade.

An applicator deviceis provided to mix and apply two or more compositions of adhesive or sealant to tissue or bone. The applicator device generally includes an applicator assembly having a handle containing a double-barreled syringe, removably mounted thereto, and a regulator assembly for providing control and sources of air pressure to the applicator assembly.
